WASHINGTON, May 9 (UPI) -- The cash-strapped campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton has forced curtailments of political events and advertising as the primary season winds down, aides say.

Advisers said Clinton would infuse her Democratic presidential campaign with more of her own money on top of the more than $11 million she already loaned the it, The New York Times said.

Hassan Nemazee, a Clinton national finance chairman, said the campaign raised more than $1 million after her primary loss in North Carolina and her razor-thin win in Indiana.

More money down the toilet with Clinton means less money those donors would throw toward Obama in the general. Spend it all, Hillary and go begging for more.

Mrs. Clinton, wife of the impeached ex president, is not used to spending her own money... she has lots of experience spending “OPM”

Absolutely. The fact that it's not a clean death but rather a slow painful sinking down into the mud of oblivion, with her most likely blaming him for wrecking her chances, with daily acrimony between them, with daily wailing and gnashing of teeth thinking over and over again what could have been, what should have been... ah! Delicious!

Nice thought Kirby, but not likely. Politically, New York is just Western Massachusetts. Kennedy, Kerry, Clinton, et al, ad infinitum.

One cup of gourmet coffee ... five dollars.

Dinner at Chang's Chinese Emporeum ... twenty-five dollars.

One failed Clinton Presidential campaign .... PRICELESS.

(plus a few million bucks of ill-gotten gains)

How do you LOAN money to your campaign? Has anyone else ever done this? I know candidates use their OWN money...

Is what she's doing legal? Does it collect interest? Is it WRITTEN?

I'm hoping she'll QUIT the Senate....feigning sickness...blah, blah, blah..

BUt the real reason would be to avoid walking into that chamber with a Big "L" on her forehead.

A Dem would be appointed so it's a no sweat thing....and frankly, she won't give a damn. She simply used the Senate and Dem infested NY for this run.

THe best part...Bubba and Hillary would have to live in the same house....Bwahahahahahaha

j-tull. Just so you know, there are plenty of us conservatives in NY.

We are mostly all “upstaters”, however. I wish we could just saw off the Big Apple, and surrounding burbs, and let New Jersey or Connecticut have the pleasure of their company.

Dear Friends: Stories about Hillary's gargantual financial expenditures and subsequent woes beg a certain question.

How does a nobody junior Senator with no background manage to keep up with her spending, if not exceed it?

Who's financing Mr. Obama, really?

Actually, I’m starting to like the idea of her personally losing $ millions along with the nomination. Icing on the cake so to speak.

As for the dream ticket, not a chance. Obama knows his life wouldn’t be safe with Clinton as his VP.

Let’s hope the superdelegate flow to Obama will become a flood and the Democrats can finally drive a stake ito the heart of the “Clinton machine.”

Even if it's close the machine will die. But if there's a flood, let it be at the convention and not a minute sooner.

It’s good to see Hillary spending money. I hope she borrows as much as possible and spends that also. Perhaps she can get bill to kick a bigger chunk of the $100 million he’s gotten in kickbacks/speaking fees.

She has no interest in NY or the Senate. That was merely a stepping stone for her expected coronation.

I expect her to endorse BHO in the next 15 days, in exchange for an Associate Justice appointment if he wins.

If he loses, she will not even finish her term in the Senate, where she is clearly bored and doing nothing.

Although I would like the Clintons and their friends cast into the dustbin of history as soon as possible, I understand the strategic value of their demise being delayed until the convention.

Sure, let their agony continue until them. The longer it goes on, the worse for the Democratic party in the fall.

Just as long as Bubba and the Witch are finally gone forever.

The fact that the Clintons are apparently going to lose to Obama by a razor-thin margin is incredibly satisfying. Obama is essentially unelectable in the general and when he gets defeated handily by McCain (and he will), it will be incredibly painful for the Clintons when they realize how close they were to getting back in the White House, only to lose to this schmuck in the nomination process.

But why Obama? How did somebody as inexperienced and unelectable as he rise out of nowhere to get the nomination?

Reason is that the Clintons made a lot of enemies. The Clintons though they were invulnerable and that the nomination was going to be a slam dunk. But Clinton's enemies within the party got behind Obama because they knew he would be a bulletproof candidate for the primaries. For when you are talking Democrat politics, the only thing that trumps a socialist woman is a socialist black man.

Another way of saying this is that Obama "out-minoritied" the Clintons. Had the Clintons run only against white males, they would have had the nomination wrapped up back in February.

The beautiful result for the rest of us is that the Republicans get at least another four years in the White House with the added benefit of seeing the political career of the Clintons utterly and irrevocably destroyed.

An added bonus to all of this is that the Clintons basically disqualified themselves from being Obama's running mate so when Obama clinches the nomination in Denver, the Clintons are out of the news cycle, probably forever.

Obama is going to get blown out in the general. Carrying 90% of the black vote can win you the nomination in the Democrat Party because 90% of blacks are Democrat. But in the general, these demographics translate into the biggest GOP landslide since Reagan. McCain, as pathetic a candidate he is, may well enjoy the biggest margin of victory in presidential politics, and the coattails might be enough to sweep the GOP back into power in Congress as well.
