Time to Myanmar?
Time ^

Posted on 05/10/2008 10:58:26 AM PDT by roostercogburn

The government of Myanmar hasn't shown the ability or willingness to deploy the kind of assets needed to deal with the calamity caused by last week's cyclone. That is why, according to time.com, it's time to consider a more serious option: invading the country also known as Burma.

Love the reasoning of the MSM. Natural disasters are reason to invade a country, but manmade genocidal dictators are not?

The MSM and Dims are always for war. The only pre-condition is that no national interests are at stake.

The MSM understands so little about foreign policy that it can’t credibly criticize it-sort of like Pelosi, Kennedy, Murtha, Kerry, etc.

I was about to say this as well, paraphrasing Ann Coulter.

Realistically, the only wars that the libs ever oppose are those that are actually in the interest of the US.

Sort of like WWII. The libs were against US involvement, at least against Germany (it was harder to justify being against war with Japan after Pearl Harbor) while Hitler honored the non-aggression pact with Stalin. Once Hitler attacked the USSR, all of a sudden the libs were for the war.

That just about sums up the media.

Since there would be no benefit to our interests, it makes it acceptable to liberals to send our soldiers to do the dirty work there. Best way to stop them in their tracks is to start a rumor there’s oil in Burma.

Let the UN “peacekeepers” and the Red Cross/Red Crescent use weapons and do Time’s bidding.

Armies aren’t social workers.

I’d have to agree.

The first “dumbest idea” I heard today was Huckabee as VP.

No, every morning I wake up think McCain is running for the GOP. That is the dumbest. Everything after that gets on the list starting at two.

So, would Burma’s neighbors, N. Korea, China or even Russia, India take such an invasion lying down? Espeically China/N Korea? With natural gas in supply in Burma? Would you like tea with your second cup of Vietnam, Time?

To Time, Newsweek, and MSM: You go first. Volunteer. Trade up for guns and merc supplies. Do it your damselves. Don’t forget to write!
