On McCain, Obama and a Hamas link

In the clearest indication yet of how he intends to confront Senator Barack Obama on foreign policy issues in the general election, Senator John McCain on Friday again portrayed the Democratic contender as being the favorite of Hamas, the militant Palestinian group, and implied that he would also be friendly with Iran, a Hamas ally.

Speaking at a news conference in New Jersey, Mr. McCain said he believed that comments made by a Hamas leader approving Mr. Obama’s candidacy were “a legitimate point of discussion,” and he went on to accuse Mr. Obama of agreeing to negotiate with the president of Iran, who on Wednesday referred to Israel as “a stinking corpse facing annihilation.” He described that as “a distinct difference between myself and Senator Obama.”

Mr. Obama has not let attacks go unanswered. On Thursday, he replied by saying that Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, was “losing his bearings” and engaging in “smear” tactics. “My policy toward Hamas has been no different than his,” Mr. Obama said in an interview on CNN.

~~~
The McCain-Obama dispute about Hamas began last month, after Ahmed Yousef, a political adviser to the group’s leadership in Gaza, made complimentary remarks about Mr. Obama in an interview with WABC radio in New York. After initially complaining that “everybody tries to sound like he is a friend of Israel” when out on the campaign trail, including Mr. Obama, Mr. Yousef shifted tone.
“We like Mr. Obama,” Mr. Yousef said, “and we hope that he will win the election.”
Hamas definitely and straight forwardly said that they wanted Obama to win. I do not care if Obama solicited it. Their statement speaks for itself and McCain is right to ask Americans to judge and choose accordingly.
Barack, who is Hussein, Obama, is the absolute apex of the domestic enemy, subversive, anti-American movement in this country.
Polished in a prepared speech, charismatic in his presentation, nonetheless, underneath it all lies a smoldering cauldron of marxism, bigotry, and black liberation theology that is the enemy of America and its traditional values.
Obama is so phony. When he was criticized for being unpatriotic, he added a bunch of American flags so that everyone could see them when he held a rally. After the Hamas issue came to light the next time I saw Obama giving a speech, he had an American flag behind him on one side, and an Israeli flag on the other side. Nothing obvious about that is there?? LOL
“My policy toward Hamas has been no different than his,” Mr. Obama said in an interview on CNN.
If that's the case the media should ask Obama why Hamas is hoping he wins?!?
If the American people were as informed as FReepers are they'd realize that Obama's position on Hamas and the entire middle east is the exact opposite of McCain's. That's why Hamas is hoping for an Obama presidency.
Let me answer that for ya...
http://select.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html?_r=3&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=slogin
In foreign policy as well, Mr. Obama would bring to the White House an important experience that most other candidates lack: he has actually lived abroad. He spent four years as a child in Indonesia and attended schools in the Indonesian language, which he still speaks.
“I was a little Jakarta street kid,” he said in a wide-ranging interview in his office (excerpts are on my (Kristoff’s) blog, www.nytimes.com/ontheground). He once got in trouble for making faces during Koran study classes in his elementary school, but a president is less likely to stereotype Muslims as fanatics — and more likely to be aware of their nationalism — if he once studied the Koran with them.
If you have to copy the most interesting parts, this is handy:
Yep, it’s all a show to get into the White House. Hope we can wake up America before it’s too late.
The actual quote from the book is from page 261 and is as follows: “Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
How do you have the nads to stand up and rail on Obama for his support of terrorists, then demand we close Gitmo, grant Geneva Convention status to the terrorists there, demand we stop waterboarding, and propose we allow the terrorists access to our court system?
Sure John.
If Obama had even a drop of manhood in him, he would openly profess his anti-American ideology.
Obama can never win the election openly stating his true beliefs because his true beliefs, and indeed his true self, are pitifully weak.
