Today at about the time this thread is posted the President will be walking his daughter Jenna down the aisle in Crawford Texas as she marries Henry Hager. The White House has promised to release a couple of photos of this very private event tomorrow.
On Friday evening the President attended a wedding rehearsal dinner near his ranch and the previous evening the Vice President spoke at an event in Washington celebrating the 60th year of the nation of Israel.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Office of the Press Secretary
May 10, 2008
President's Radio Address
THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. Today is my daughter Jenna's wedding day. This is a joyous occasion for our family, as we celebrate the happy life ahead of her and her husband Henry. It's also a special time for Laura, who this Mother's Day weekend will watch a young woman we raised together walk down the aisle.
Mother's Day is a special time for mothers all across America. On this holiday, we pause to celebrate the love and compassion of the women who have raised us, and to thank them for the many years of patience and selflessness. Throughout our lives, mothers are there with an encouraging word, a sympathetic ear, and a tender heart. They set our direction in life, and from time to time they have been known to correct our course.
Like many of you, my life has been blessed by a mother who is a source of unconditional love. Those of us who have been so fortunate are forever in debt to these caring women. So on this holiday weekend, we celebrate all those mothers who help make our country a better place.
On this Mother's Day weekend, we think of the mothers who are celebrating this holiday for the very first time. Few blessings can compare to starting a new family. And few bonds are stronger than those between a mother and her newborn baby. This is also a special time for new adoptive mothers, who have welcomed their children into their homes with open arms and an open heart. We wish all these new parents many happy Mother's Days to come.
On this Mother's Day weekend, we think of the many mothers who raised the brave men and women serving our country in uniform. And to those mothers, I offer the thanks of a grateful Nation. Your sons and daughters are defending our freedom with dignity and honor. And America appreciates the sacrifices that your families make in the name of duty.
On this Mother's Day weekend, we remember the mothers grieving a son or daughter lost in the service to their country, as well as the children who have lost a mother in uniform. We share their pride in these wonderful Americans who have given everything to protect our people from harm. Nothing we say can ever make up for their loss. But on this special day, we hold them in our hearts and we lift them in our prayers.
I wish every mother listening this morning a blessed Mother's Day, including my own. And I have a message for every son and daughter listening this morning: Remember to tell mom the first thing tomorrow how much you love her.
Thank you for listening.

CHECK OUT THESE JUICY, JENNA-RELATED DETAILS!
Well, Dave and Katie Hermann certainly had themselves an exciting Friday night. The Hermanns own The Range Restaurant at the Barton House, a fine-dining eatery in Salado, about an hours drive from Crawford along Interstate 35. The Range is housed in a local historic home built in 1866. It specializes in new American food with a French and Mediterranean influence. Mr. Hermann and his wife have owned it for 11 years. Months ago, a woman approached the couple about having her sons wedding rehearsal dinner at nearby Old Salado Springs Celebration Center, where the Range Restaurant would be the caterer of choice. But get this: She used an alias, says Mr. Hermann. The woman turned out to be the mother of Jenna Bushs future husband, Henry Hager.
Mr. Hermann says he and his wife did not find out until 10:30 p.m. Thursday that this rehearsal dinner, one of many they host, would be for the daughter and future son-in-law of President Bush and first lady Laura Bush. They were, of course, floored. Its obviously the highest-profile rehearsal dinner weve ever done! says Mr. Hermann, with a laugh. They ended up having 120 guests, consisting of family and wedding party only. (All other guests were invited to an after-party at the nearby Silver Spur Theatre.) Mr. Hermann says the rehearsal dinner was quite exciting, with the Secret Service sweeping everyone down with metal detectors. After being approved for entry, guests were served or h’dourves and cocktails, followed by steakhouse salad and an entrée of pork tenderloin with lemon-crusted rainbow trout. Dessert was roasted corn pudding, followed by a mixed berry chantilly crème tart. The event also served as Henry Hagers 30th birthday party. Every one of them was so kind and gracious, says Mr. Hermann. They were a very pleasant party. He described the president as very gracious, very polite, very unpretentious and unassuming. He seemed very aware of the fact that this was their night. They did a fantastic job of making it not about them by any stretch. Laura gave the dinner prayer and then the grooms parents spoke. Henry, says Mrs. Hermann, gave the funniest toasts of the night, telling the president he couldnt wait to be the son hed never had. Everyone got a chuckle out of that. He told funny stories about dating the presidents daughter. She declined to say, however, what those were. Everyone, she says, was respectful of the fact that this is a very private event for them.

BUSH WEDDING BLITZ: MORE FROM LOVELY SALADO
Before describing details about the wedding, such as who designed the jewelry and dresses and who will play the music and will the president wear a suit or a tuxedo? Sally McDonough, Mrs. Bushs press secretary, elaborated on a few more details about Friday nights activities in Salado, about an hour away on Interstate 35. (Read on!)
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Henry Hagers family, she said, at the Old Salado Springs Celebration Center. She said the total guest list was about 100. It was also Henrys 30th birthday. After the rehearsal dinner, the party walked down Royal Street, escorted by the Belton High School marching band — known as the Marching 100 — (and yes, President Bush was among those who walked to the bands drum beat). Their destination was the Salado Silver Spur Theater, where the more than 200 wedding guests were invited to an after-party. The entertainment at the Silver Spur Theater was provided by Duke Merrick, whose five-member band from Charlottesville, Va., entertained the crowd with music from classic Texas songwriters and, said Ms. McDonough, several of Duke Merricks original songs. The Duke Merrick Band has played for 25 years, she said, with musical roots in Nashville and Austin. Duke Merrick is actually a cousin of the Hager family, she said, adding one correction to somebody’s earlier reporting (but not mine!): The Hager family on Saturday hosted a barbecue at the Old Salado Springs Celebration Center and not at the ranch, said Ms. McDonough, who also told me that the book co-written by Jenna and her mother is, for the second week in a row, the No.1-selling chilldren book on the New York Times bestseller list.

Only 200 were invited. And they included relatives of Jenna (up to and including first cousins-that’s about 40 people right there) and friends of the President who have known Jenna all her life so that kinda leaves Cheney, Rove and Rumsfeld out, I guess.

I enjoyed these two additional quotes:
“Henry, says Mrs. Hermann, gave the funniest toasts of the night, telling the president he couldnt wait to be the son hed never had.”
“. . . the book co-written by Jenna and her mother is, for the second week in a row, the No.1-selling chilldren book on the New York Times bestseller list.”
Thank you for posting the additional photos — the ‘angel’ photo is mesmerizing!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY . . . and thank you for your beautiful prayer!
Welcome sweetie! :)
May God’s blessings flow to you and yours! :))
((hugs))
Excellent Dose today, snugs!
I wish Jenna & Henry a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness from the bottom of my heart.
Good Evening. Wonderful night. I’m happy with just the tiny snippets gathered so far on the wedding!
Thanks.

Great clip
Thanks for those extra photos
I remember the President saying, many years ago, that he’d love for one of the girls to get married at the ranch, in an area that he called the “Cathedral”. I wonder if the ceremony will be held anywhere near that.
That last photo at sunset or sunup it lovely
Could I please have the picture of the Angel with the veil and flowers, from post #38, on my toaster? It’s beautiful with the sunset behind it!
Here's the Salado Silver Spur Theater

And
Old Salado Springs Celebration Center and Retreat

"Tyrone Smith of Nashville and his 10-piece party band, The Tyrone Smith Revue, were hired to play at the reception in Crawford.
*snip*
Smith, who also played at one of the 2005 Bush inaugural balls at the Washington Convention Center, normally coaxes his audience members onstage to dance. He planned to make the president a target Saturday night.
"If he's around and the party's going, I'll get him up," Smith said. "I can't imagine him ducking out."
Smith planned to play "Celebration" by Kool & the Gang as the newlyweds arrived at the reception about 7 p.m. CDT in a tent on the 1,600-acre family ranch in Crawford. He said the band would play briefly, then break while the attendees have dinner, then resume and play until around 1 a.m.
"It'll be a 'get down' party," Smith promised.
The band planned to do its usual show, which normally includes covers of "Proud Mary," "Play That Funky Music," "Sweet Home Alabama," "Crazy in Love," "Hey Ya!," "Brick House," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and others.
"If anyone's in sight, I'll get them up onstage," Smith said.
The band was asked to do "Lovin' in My Baby's Eyes" by Taj Mahal for the newlyweds' first dance."
~~~~
Whoa .. Taj Mahal! I saw him over 40 yrs ago at a college frat party when he was a fringe hippie type .. can't believe he's still around. You can hear a snippet of the song
Very sweet.
Great pics snugs. Best wishes for Jenna and Henry.
Pray for W and Our British Allies
doesn’t sound like it..the ‘Cathedral’ is in farther on the ranch and sounds kinda difficult to get to. The lake is maybe 150 feet from the house and that’s where their are getting married.
