A gang of London teenage girls is suspected of destroying three houses and killing a man with a homemade liquid bomb during an argument over a boy.
According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, witnesses say a purple, smelly liquid was poured into a mailbox of one of the homes, which set off a massive explosion.
The intended target of the attack, Charlotte Anderson, was injured in the blast and rushed to the hospital with severe burns. Her next-door neighbor, Emad Qureshi, 26, who was at home with his parents, was killed when he was crushed by falling debris, it was reported.
Earlier, Anderson had phoned the police with a complaint that a gang of girls was harassing her over a boy outside her home.

well the term "feminazi" just became literal....wow...
Charge them as adults with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder (or whatever the Brit equivalent is over there). This was a heinous act over something absolutely stupid.
Threats over a boy? Oh man...when I was in college I had some girls in a slut..er..I mean sorority house make threats to me over a frat brother....but never like this! Thank God the internet was not in full use back then and they could not look up explosives! Although I am not sure those sluts had the brains to do make one.
See — gun control works.
Holy Crap indeed.Did someone work out a home recipe for astrolite?
Damn! Just Damn.
It werent no pipe bomb
Holy Crap is right. Damn!!
Humble,
These sound like your kind of girls.
"Charlottes mother, Elaine Leonard, said: She was on the phone to police in the morning. She didnt know what the purple liquid was - she thought it was a stink bomb - so she just kept spraying perfume on it throughout the day to get rid of the smell.
"She was on the phone to a friend in the evening and the next thing she knows there is a massive explosion.
"Shes terrified were all terrified.
"The explosion wasnt over some boy it had nothing to do with boys.
"We dont know why the police didnt come to the house as soon as she told them about the liquid its a mystery."
Whats up with the two big rectangular holes in the street on the other side of the road?
Any ideas on what they used, please?
Holy crap.
Holy crap.
That really make the whole incident more unclear.
The stuff was lying on the floor all day? What?
Thats some quick thinking!
Those holes almost look like they were digging for a pipeline. Perhaps their small explosion in the mailbox hit the gas line coming in the house which caused the massive explosion. But - wouldn’t there be a valve cover the could use to turn off the gas? But maybe the Brits do things differently. I don’t know.
And why if the purple goop was around all day and THEN it exploded. Maybe the gal kept spraying perfume into a small room, or a mail box type thing. Then, after hours of doing that and the “stink” still around got the bright idea to “light a match” (hey - it works in the bathroom doesn’t it?
Too lazy to clean up a mess;just spray some perfume on it!?
wow

girls. girls. girls just wanna have fu-uhn.
you might have something there.
What type of dye or colorant do they use for natural gas in Britain?
Perhaps the purple stuff was a concentration of it, or something else in the gas.
Her statement that it smelled real bad so she sprayed it with perfume all day - forest gump stupid - could be a sign of that chemical that they put in gas so that you can smell a leak.
I see the faint outline of a lemon covered propane tank!
DAMN! And just who was this boy that they blew up a house over??????????
Propane is not a toy.
Handle propane carefully.
Do not handle propane while under the influence of alcohol.
Do not handle propane while under the influence of emotional duress.
Propane is never to be mixed with fireworks.
If you suspect propane is present, call a professional.
England, it's way overdue that you stop talking about America and it's guns, what with *teenage girls* laying waste to entire city blocks with BOMBS.
.....hath no fury like a woman spurned.
Nitrogen tri-iodide? Some of the chem majors used to make tiny quantities of NI3 in the dorms for various mischief back in the late 50’s.
Anyone other than Gerard Butler and she has no taste in men.
Isn’t Nitrogen tri-iodide stable until it dries, and then becomes super unstable?
How can people live that close together. Their homes look like they’re almost touching each other.
I did when I was in high school our chemistry teacher taught us how to make it. The 11th grade high school chemistry teacher set a petri dish on top of a cabinet whose door stuck and then would send girls over to the cabinet during the hour to get something from the cabinet and startled all the students. Once it had dried sufficiently it went off with a bang. It was part of a lecture on a type of chemical reaction.
In very small quantities in the open when it’s still wet it’s OK but as it dries and if it’s contained it’s really powerful. It was also very unstable. If that’s what they used that’s scary.
Wonder where these girls got the ingredients and if they are members of some minority group?
They probably ARE touching each other....probably ROW HOUSES....crowded cities have them all the time
Yes, but under the right conditions when hasn’t dried it will still explode. BTW it’s red not purple but does leave a purple cloud. If you want to watch a UTube vido of some of it going up go here: ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KlAf936E90
LUANNE: Oh, I'm not grievin'. I broke up with Buckley seconds before the explosion and I never looked back. That's why I still have my eyebrows.
HANK: I'm fine! It's no big deal! Buildings explode, that's what they do.
Thats the way Ammonium Iodide works. Contact explosive
They ARE touching
For sure!
Very easy to transport wet, but one gram of dry crystal will blow a tire off it's wheel as it rolls.
In England First Degree murder gets you maybe 14 years in the slammer.
Severing the gas service to the buildings to prevent secondary explosions from accumulated leakage.
Well isn’t that speeeecial
And maybe out in 7 for good behavior?
Don't need no stinking matches, a knock on the front door would be enough to set off NI3.
“Those holes almost look like they were digging for a pipeline”
~~~
That would be the gas line,,,
No other way to shut off the service lines to the houses,,,
From the blast-pattern (bricks/etc.) this looks more like
a gas leak caused it rather than Astrolite/etc...IMO...
That ain’t no lady finger!
The slurry is stable, but when it dries ANYTHING will set it off. I’ve had a drop of it dry out on a sheet of paper, that was set off by just picking it up. We would stuff a little into a keyhole, or put a drop under one of the bumpers on a toilet seat.
I guessed triiodine nitride when I heard “paste” and “sitting around” all day. Lovely little compound that one.
Thank you. I get claustrophobic just looking at them so close. It must be an extreme fire hazard.
Nooo..
Hehe we did the toilets a well
