He was also great in Miller's Crossing.

I see they found a slick way to rob us all of our 2nd amendment rights, make it a felony to have an unregistered firearm, and then after you’re convicted, it will be illegal for you, an ex-felon, to possess a firearm. They need simply to make so many small trivial things felonies, that it’ll be easy to turn us all into felons and take away our guns. Bravo.

Actually, police officers and retired police officers, as of 2004, are exempted by Federal law from all state and local laws concerning possession or concealment of any non-NFA firearm.

Yeah, but only if they jump through some hoops. I have a retired cop who works for me and he has to qualify, get the qualification signed by the local police chief send the paperwork back to his old chief in New Jersey and then get back a paper that says he's qualified and legal.

I think he has to do that every year. I'll ask him tomorrow.

He is a retired Chicago cop. He would qualify for a Retired Officer Concealed Carry Permit issued by the Illinois Retired Officer Concealed Carry Section under the auspices of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004. This permit is good in all 50 states of the union. I have one as a retired Illinois State Policeman.

He would have qualified had he applied. If he is convicted of a felony, than he will be permanently disbarred from getting one.

“Crime Story” was a great show. IIRC, The Farina character used an M1911A1 with rubber bands wrapped around the grip...

Yes, another Coen Brothers masterpiece.

“Take your flunkies and dangle!”

“I think your giving me the high hat!”

“Don't smart me!”

“Hi Tom, what's the rumpus?”

Albert Finney’s machine gun sequence with “Danny Boy” playing in the back round was fantastic.

Precisely. Rubber bands, no holster, tucked into pants. Rubber bands were for grip? Not sure. Never seen or heard of that trick before.

I know the thread is a week old but I gotta tell ya that guy Paulie really cracked me up! He was the perfect combination of ugly, stupidity, clumsiness and sadistic murderous evil if I remember correctly.
If I remember right they moved from Chicago to Vegas in the second season but I’m not sure.
I gotta go and try to find that show now...

Yeah, they moved to Vegas real early. Almost certain it was the beginning of season 2.
