Liberals are licking their chops at this ticket. They will rake Huckabee through the coals as revenge for Rev. Wright.
About the only thing that could make me vote for McCain is picking a strong Veep candidate.

First I hear Bob Barr’s going to run, just for vanity’s sake, and now this!
The Huckleberry just about reached his level of incompetence as governor of the poorest state in the nation.
IMO, a conservative from a blue state in the northeast, great lakes, or midwest might help. But who knows.
The only potential candidate that will make you hope McCain never gets ill.
He cannot select Romney. First rule of VP selection, do not pick someone more desirable than yourself. That leaves Romney out in the cold, because Romney is smarter, more likeable, more photogenic, younger, more level headed, and more conservative. It is a close call depending upon how you look at it whether Huckabee would break the first rule of VP selection. It is a close call.
The problem is that it will be between this and Obama/Hillary. There isn't one conservative issue that Obama or Hillary are better on than McCain or Huckabee. We don't have a Hunter, Thompson, Tancredo, Romney, etc. to vote for.

It doesn’t matter. McCain is not going to beat Obama in November because of the simple fact that a lot of conservatives will either not vote or waste their vote on some 3rd party canidate which will, as a result, put Obama in the White House.
Just like the same group of stubborn children who voted for Ross Perot and gave us 8 years of Clinton.

Huckleberry is pro-gun and unabashedly pro-Christian, but believes in high taxes and is pro-illegal aliens and pro-social programs.

That’s because Huck knows he’s said some crap that will throw his sorry butt under a microscope. I’ve said it many times, Huck is going to take all Christians down with him simply because the MSM (and liberals) throw all Christians in one pot.

And get ready for a new Republican majority starting in 2010. And any Republican lucky enough to survive this election will be seriously awake and maybe start filibustering and fighting for a change. We don’t need a RINO in the White House to get that done. In fact, McNasty would do all he could to stop them from opposing his close friends and “Colleagues” (Democrats) in the Legislature.
If Huckabee or Romney or frankly any of the other also rans is the VP candidate, McCain has figured out a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
