"ORLANDO, Fla. -- A central Florida man has been sentenced to death for murdering his ex-girlfriend by setting her on fire.
Orange County Circuit Judge Lisa Munyon followed a jury's recommendation when she sentenced 21-year-old Dane Abdool on Monday.
The jury convicted Abdool of first-degree murder in December for the 2006 death of 17-year-old Amelia Sookdeo of Winter Garden."

Oddly, a group of Iranian men have just had their necks stretched for exactly the same crime.
Dane Abdool’s defense attorney put psychologist Dr. Karen Gold on the stand to testify that, after examining Abdool, she discovered he has a learning disability and has the reading and math skills of a sixth-grader.
According to Dr. Gold, who I’m sure would never accept money for testimony, said:
He met the criteria for a very, very, very serious mental disorder. Delusional. I found him to be intellectually limited, but not mentally retarded.
Defense attorneys also brought out relatives of Abdool to testify that he had a hard time learning when he was a child growing up in Trinidad.

I’ll bet that he will quickly learn what he needs to know when they give him the needle. But I still miss good Old Sparky!
The odds are that Inmate Abdool will be celebrating his 41st birthday within the friendly walls of the Florida Department of Corrections.
You can be sure that the usual anti-death penalty suspects, led by the ACLU, will argue that Abdool the Fool is mentally impaired and should have his sentence commuted to ‘life’.
The only way he should have been sentenced to death was by invoking a variation of that Golden Rule, i.e. “Doing unto others what they themselves have done.”
Abdool; Abdool? Where have I heard that name before?
And Dr. Gold, here is a news flash you should have learned somewhere in your useless career - most Abdool’s you will meet will have a sixth grade math and reading skill. Duh there Doctor.
I added the “prolife” keyword to this thread ,, the pro-aborts like to tar and feather us for long ago misdeeds by a small number of pro-lifers ,, here is a pro abort murder , the guy burned his girlfriend to death because she thought she was pregnant (the autopsy showed that she wasn’t),,, there are many many examples like this each year throughout the country.
And given the usual state of the system, IF he ever actually faces the needle, it will be at least a decade before he even gets close. Justice delayed...
