Kosovo killers. Part 1

Hardly a day goes by without fragments of Ponte's book hitting Belgrade newspapers. Here is a commonly quoted section that details the horrors of Kosovo organ trafficking:

"According to the journalists' sources, who were only identified as Kosovo Albanians, some of the younger and fitter prisoners were visited by doctors and were never hit. They were transferred to other detention camps in Burrel and the neighboring area, one of which was a barracks behind a yellow house 20 km behind the town.

"One room inside this yellow house, the journalists said, was kitted out as a makeshift operating theater, and it was here that surgeons transplanted the organs of prisoners. These organs, according to the sources, were then sent to Rinas airport, Tirana, to be sent to surgical clinics abroad to be transplanted to paying patients.

"One of the informers had personally carried out a shipment to the airport. The victims, deprived of a kidney, were then locked up again, inside the barracks, until the moment they were killed for other vital organs. In this way, the other prisoners in the barracks were aware of the fate that awaited them, and according to the source, pleaded, terrified to be killed immediately.

"Among the prisoners who were taken to these barracks were women from Kosovo, Albania, Russia and other Slavic countries. Two of the sources said that they helped to bury the corpses of the dead around the yellow house and in a neighboring cemetery. According to the sources, the organ smuggling was carried out with the knowledge and active involvement of middle and high ranking involvement from the KLA (ed. Kosovo Liberation Army).

this if true, since the Albanians are not coming forward, the CIA, US Army and UN should come clean in their role. This is horrible, if true. Especially US Army IF they are still holding the "healthiest Serbs" as guinea pigs as Carla Ponte's source suggests:

MILIJANA MITROVIC: Bernard Kouchner Involved In Albanian Organ Market Milijana Mitrovic, who was close to the Albanian businessman and saw death camps, says organs were not taken from Serbs exclusively. Karmen Horvat

Milijana Mitrovic was one of Carla del Ponte`s sources for information on death camps in which organs were taken from people, the Kurir daily writes.

Reuters-.--.-She claimed Albania is not only a Serbian “blue tomb”, but organs were taken from Romanians, Greeks, Montenegrins, Russians and Arabs as well.

The very Albanian political top was in on it, along with KFOR and UNMIK representatives.

Among other things, Mitrovic claimed that thanks to the fact she was close to an influential Albanian businessman, she had the opportunity to see the camps and find out a lot about the crimes. When she decided to speak out on organ trade in 2002, nobody would listen. She received threats and the police questioned and bullied her.

Organs taken from prostitutes
- The Albanians brought in prostitutes from various countries who entertained UNMIK and KFOR members and when they were no longer necessary, they were taken to Albania and their organs were removed. The camps were stationed in Kukes, Elbasan, Fljora and Drac, while “the yellow house”, where the organs were extracted, was in Tirana – Milijana told the Kurir paper.

She also said the healthiest of Serbian men up to the age of 45 were taken to army bases in Germany and Italy. She is not sure what exactly happened to them, but she says there are indications they served as guinea pigs.

- Whoever tried to escape would end up under a knife. Former and current Albanian prime ministers Sali Berisa and Fatos Nano were involved, with the blessing of Bernard Kouchner, French Foreign Affairs Minister and former UNMIK head. Other involved parties included Hashim Thaqi, Halim Omer Osmani and Ramus Haradini – Mitrovic counted.

She claimed that politicians, mostly of the Serbian opposition, tried to raise funds to find abducted Serbs in 2001 and 2002 and the money was handed over to a Kosovo Albanian through a CIA colonel. The Albanian was killed in the end [Did the CIA killed him??].

Simo Spasic, president of the Abducted Kosmet Civilians, Soldiers and Police Officers` Association said Milijana Mitrovic told them her information several years back, but they could not believe her at the time.

This is horrible. The so called Prostitutes were NOT prostitutes. They were east european women lured out of their countries with promise of good jobs and FORCED INTO PROSTITUTION. When they no longer necessary their organs got harvested.

Irina, aged 18, responded to an advertisement in a Kyiv, Ukraine newspaper for a training course in Berlin in 1996. With a fake passport, she traveled to Berlin, Germany where she was told that the school had closed. She was sent on to Brussels, Belgium for a job. When she arrived she was told she needed to repay a debt of US$10,000 and would have to earn the money in prostitution. Her passport was confiscated, and she was threatened, beaten and raped. When she didn’t earn enough money she was sold to a Belgium pimp who operated in Rue d’Aarschot in the Brussel’s red light district. When she managed to escape through the assistance of police, she was arrested because she had no legal documentation. A medical exam verified the abuse she had suffered, such as cigarette burns all over her body.

Lena, aged 21, was recruited by a woman who said her daughter was working in Greece and making a lot of money. When Lena arrived in Greece, her passport had been taken away and she was put into a small room in a brothel guarded by two dogs. She was sold in prostitution each night from nine in the evening until six in the morning. When she escaped and returned to Mykolayiv she had US$55.00.
