Dems score a hat trick with specials TRIBUNE-REVIEW By Salena Zito
Democrats scored a hat trick with their third special-election win in GOP-held House seats by winning tonight in Mississippis 1st District. This win follows Democratic victories in special elections in Illinois' 14th District in March and in Louisiana's 6th District 10 days ago.

We’re screwed. Even if McCain wins, the Dems are going to pick up seats in the House and Senate. If they get to 60 in the Senate, it will be the end of America as we know it.
They are running as Conservatives and painting their Republican foes with the brush of cronyism and corruption. They figure, with good reason, that once they are the incumbent, no one will think about their actual record.
Read the Book of Nehemiah, remember the story of Jericho.
Stand for what is right.
Persevere and be of great courage.
Or even a Daniel.
He stood for God, and followed Him even after the city of Jerusalem was lost. His parents might have been killed. He might have been made a eunuch. Made to read the literature of his captors, and yet he was such a man of God the rest of his life.
Now, all that has to be done is for the winning Dem candidate to run on the "I'm not a Republican" ticket in the general election.
Like it or not, McCain is running on the Republican ticket. The media will do the rest.
Listening to McCain's recent speeches, it makes NO difference if he is elected. He has a liberal social agenda and will be no different than Obama or Clinton.
Republicans - abandoning conservative values while consistently snatching defeat from victory.
Why bother voting Republican when John McCain is running around the country sounding like Al Gore?
McCain’s agend is a softer sell socialism than the out and out Marxism of Clinton and Obama.
McCain was held prisoner by Communists. Clinton and Obama are fellow travellers of those who WANTED the North Vietnamese Communists to win.
There is a subtle difference.
McCain is to the Left of Bush41 and Bush43 but he IS to the right of the Clintons and Obama.
You have 3 choices, accept McCain as president, accept Obama-Clinton as president, or move away.
This is why you should “bother” voting Republican. Have a tough time accepting the reality of the 2008 election?
Here is McCain on Global Warming:
“Climate Change is Real.”
“Cap and Trade!”
“The debate is Over!”

I'm not voting for ANY socialism candidate, soft or otherwise. I can't believe that is even a choice.
McCain was held prisoner by Communists.
And seemingly became good friends with them. Indeed, as a Viet Nam veteran, I can not support John McCain in large part because of the way he turned his back on MIA's in order to expedite normalization with communist Viet Nam. Sorry, McCain ("the softer sell socialism candidate") is no great hero in my book and certainly will not be getting my vote.
The conservative voting base is angry.
The conservative voting base has every right to be angry.
I think you spell this G A S P R I C E S.
So the next 4 years will be a rough ride, Conservative Republican politicians have really let us down as a group. I’m not sitting out the vote, But I’ll be concentrating on the lower tiers.
I think after 4 years of nothing but rats, If we have a decent team, and a solid conservative play book, were back. If not were f*cked
This is what happens when the GOP abandons conservatism.....they give no reason for people to vote for them. There is no vision or principles. This is especially true when you have liberal RINO’s like McCain and Huckabee essentially leading the party.
Bush 41 raised taxes, allowed Saddam to remain in power and bailed out the S&L. Bush 43 made our dollar worthless, screwed up a simple Iraq invasion, and has given us some of the largest govenment programs in the history of the world.
Reagan raised taxes six times, signed an amnesty bill, retreated in Lebanon, and negoiated with the Evil Empire.
McCain is in the Reagan Mainstream.
They’re not just running as conservatives. Many of them truly *are* conservatives...or at least to the right of the middle.
I think that the Democratic party liberal leadership is in for a rude awakening in the near future. They continue to prop up conservative Democratic candidates around the country just to get a few more “D’s” on the Congressional roll call.
But are they going to be able to bring those conservative Dems on board when they try to outlaw guns, or increase access to abortions, or institute a timetable on Iraq?
For example, look at Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey’s position on many of the issues (particularly guns, abortion, and Iraq). He’s further to the right than many Republicans.
If there is any good coming out of this election, it’s that the Democratic party is getting *more conservative*...which will hopefully push the RINO’s in the Republican party further to the right as well as they try to differentiate themselves from their Democratic counterparts.
I'd take a Senate made up of 100 Scoop Jacksons over one of 100 Arlen Specters, anytime.
Amen to That!
