KIDDIE-PORN CHIC: BEYONCE'S TINY HO'S
nypost.com ^ | May 14, 2008 | Michelle Malkin

IF you thought the soft-porn image of Disney teen queen Miley Cyrus - wearing nothing but ruby-stained lips and a bedsheet - in Vanity Fair magazine was disturbing, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Pop diva Beyonce Knowles, 27, and her fashion-designer mother have launched a girls' clothing line that makes Miley's bare-backed glam session look like a Shirley Temple photo shoot.

The Knowles' family business, "House of Dereon," recently published ads for its "Dereon Girls Collection" with young models who look no older than my second-grade daughter. They are seductively posed and tarted up, JonBenet Ramsey-style, with lipstick, blush and face powder.

Draped in bling, several girls sport leather jackets and studded accessories.

One child wears sparkly, high heels (more pint-size Pussycat Doll than Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz") and another slouches, gangsta gal-style, with a neon-pink boa, leopard-skin fedora and stilettos.

. . and we wonder why so many little girls (and boys) are being snatched off the streets by perverts . . and why in the world has it gotten so much worse than it was way back in the good old days when we could play on the streets and our parents didn’t have to worry about us.

I think Michelle and others might be overreacting a little.

Looks more like little girls playing dress-up.

But as a child growing up in the 70’s, my parents put me in stuff that was much, much worse.

It all looks horrifying, but what’s new? Little girls have been dressed like prostitots by their parents for years so this does not shock me.

I agree. I’m not seeing anything there that would be considered all that inappropriate for kids.

Yes, all second graders should be sporting stripper pumps and ghetto bling. As if this woman hasn’t made enough money already. Nice one Beyonce. I’m sure you’ve included a line of tasteful thongs to go with these as well.

I’m not getting it. It just looks like really expensive glam-crap.

Malkin is being ridiculous. This is hardly getting worked up in arms about.

"...back in the good old days when we could play on the streets and our parents didn’t have to worry about us.

What days were those? I'm of the opinion that the numbers were actually worse but were under reported. In this day of instant information and Amber alerts our society is accutely aware of the dangers. I believe that criminals know that their actions are under much closer scrutiny these days and as a result are committing fewer of these types of crimes. If you watch the interviews of serial killers who hunted in the 70's you'll hear horror stories about hundreds and hundreds of hitchhiker abductions and murder that simply went unreported. Local police back in 'the good old days' were less likely to coordinate with State and Federal law enforcement and would not even open an investigation unless the person had been missing for several days. Missing person cases might make the local papers but rarely got any attention on a larger scale unless the parents or family took matters into their own hands.

At least they’re covered. Parents who fork over big bucks for this garbage and let their kids go to school wearing it need their heads examined, but as tasteless children’s clothing goes, this is mild. My office is in the heart of the NYC tourist district and I see much worse on the streets here. Last summer I saw a girl about 8-9 years old in low cut leopard-skin lycra pants, a halter top, high heels, and lipstick, apparently out shopping and sightseeing with her parents. And now warm weather is back again . . .

Perhaps Miss Malkin would be more happy with a line of miniature burkas, or maybe burlap sacks.

Michelle needs to learn not to use an apostrophe to pluralize. Ho is what? Ho owns what? If you’re not trying to convey either of these ideas, no apostrophe.

Those outfits don’t look so raunchy. There could be more objectionable items in the clothing line that we haven’t seen yet. That stuff looks EXPENSIVE.

Please see the photo array in #1. Those are tiny little girls wearing stripper boots. Michelle Malkin in not being a priss, she is the mother of two daughters who are going to have to face things like this...kiddie porn disguised as fashion.

Are either of you mothers with small daughters who will come running into the kitchen to show you this clothing in a magazine and say, “Mommy, can I get that? I like that”?

Oh, about 40 years ago. I remember being able to walk downtown by myself to see a movie when I was 12. Can't do that now, even as an adult.
