Police are seeking the help of residents to identify a woman.

"The Owasso Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person shown in this photograph. This person is not a suspect in a crime, but needs to be identified as soon as possible so her well being can be established," said Owasso Police Chief Dan Yancey.
Anyone with information about the identity of the woman should contact Detective Jason Woodruff at 272-COPS (272-2677).

This woman needs to be identified and/or located to verify her wellbeing. She may be from the Tulsa, OK area specifically, or from Oklahoma in general, or possibly from out of state.
Please call the number in the article if you have any information.
Also, please offer a prayer that she is located and that she is safe and well.

Might be a port hole too. She looks like she is wearing a swim suit of some kind.
If it is cropped, I believe it would have been done by the police department before they submitted it to the paper.

Sounds like standard police boilerplate when trying to locate an alleged victim.

It appears from the angle of the light and the arrangement of her hair/clothing that she is lying down flat, and the photo has been rotated 90 degrees to make it easier to recognize her. And yes, it appears to be a cropped still from a video - a very sobering sign. The chances are very good that if so, this video was found with a suspect or was taken from the internet portraying suspicious activity...
I offer up my prayers for this girl. I wish the police would tell us more about the circumstances surrounding their inquiry; it would help us to know where to look.

Tulsa News Channel 8 ran the picture on their evening news broadcast and their website has a story posted.
As far as I know, the broadcast has not generated any valid leads.

Police in Owasso need your help to find a young woman.
They are concerned about the welfare of the woman seen in this picture. She is in her early to mid 20s.
Police say she could play a vital role in an ongoing investigation. Details are being kept confidential, but officers do say she is not suspected of any crime. They simply want to talk to her.

I agree with your assessment. Also, I believe that what appears to be a "porthole" or "airplane window" is really just the edge of a white pillow protruding from a pillow case.

These situations are difficult for police. They have to balance the urgency of finding the person with the importance of protecting their privacy. The investigation appears to be focusing on the Owasso/Tulsa area, but the person could be from somewhere else in Oklahoma, or out of state.

Nothing has changed. There have been no (valid) responses or leads since the photo was released. They are still investigating...
