Among the more eye-popping tabs were $3,897 at Morton's Steakhouse in January and $2,800 at the Ray's Over the River nightclub, the most recent city records available show.

Both charges were at events intended to foster better relations among the Orleans Parish legislative delegation, the City Council and the Nagin administration, said city communications director Ceeon Quiett, who signed for both checks.

The mayor also has a city-financed credit card, but the administration has yet to satisfy a request from The Times-Picayune for billing records for that card.

Does that mean we'll have a chocolate city and a chocolate country?

In the next mayoral election will bus loads of former residents of New Orleans still be allowed to vote? Not that I'm a Landrieu fan but he could be worse.

Certain people are protected from accountability for their actions. They seem to think that affirmative action gives them a privileged status and makes them above the law. They’re right.

That’s it in a nutshell. Witness the waste and fraud over the years because of the desegregation order that poured money into the Kansas City Schools and the total lack of restraint or brains in using it. Guess who the majority of folks in charge of spending it were.
