INDIANAPOLIS -- A high school teacher was arrested and suspended after allegations of sex with a student surfaced this week.
A 15-year-old male student at The Renaissance School in Warren Township told police that he had sex with Sheila Vazquez during a "lunch" outing during school hours, police said.
The incident is alleged to have happened on May 1 following several months of conversation that included sexual innuendo, the student told police.
According to a police report, the student indicated that the conversations began innocently in February when he told her that he was bored in school.
The student told police that Vazquez responded that she had something that would keep him busy.
As the conversations continued over the ensuing months, according to the student, he and Vazquez met in a classroom after school on several occasions to kiss and embrace.
The student told police that Vazquez arranged to take him to lunch during school because he was working hard in class.
Police said the student told them that he and Vazquez went to her home and had sex during the encounter and that she brought him back to school afterward.
Vazquez faces four counts of child molestation.

I don’t know if I agree with the guilty verdict... I think with some makeup, she might be able to get off (so to speak).

What I can’t figure out is why they talk to the police about it. If I was that age and had that situation happen I would have shut up and gone for it, most of the guys I grew up with would have too.

All kidding aside, sexual relations between a grown woman and a 15 year old boy are wrong and harmful.
All our lives we are told that girls mature faster than boys, so logic would dictate it is less harmful for a grown man to have sex with a 15 year old girl than vice versa, no?

Oh, but there’s money to be made in suing the school district and the woman - have a relationship with a teacher, and bamo, instant lottery winner.
I don’t think so, I believe that boys look at sex at that age completely different than girls do. I believe that girls are (on average) far more emotionally fragile than boys are when it comes to sex at a young age, they don’t seem to differentiate between love and sex like a guy does. (Again, on average, certainly not in all cases)
True, but I think that will come to the parent’s minds a lot faster than to a horny 15 year boy.
I know it’s wrong, and as a parent I would push to prosecute any teacher who sexualizes my kids, but do you know how many kids fantasize about this very thing happening? They aren’t thinking about money, in fact they aren’t thinking with their brains at all.

But you also have to consider how she compares to the rest of the population of teachers in that school... if the rest are a bunch of 50 year olds, she might look hot in comparison.
I am acquainted with a case where an older man molested three teenage boys.
They talked about it to the cops because they were shaking down the guy. They admitted in court that they told him if he didn’t pay them $1000, they would go to the cops.
He didn’t and they did. He got 135 years, and they got to cry on the stand talking about what a rotten person he was.
I agree he was rotten, but sometimes rottenness goes both ways.

I guess you are right, but I would rather get the opinion from someone who had the experience as a 15 year old male teen. Unfortunately, it was not my experience even in the “hot for teacher” 80’s. lol.

Um, I recall being 15. I never viewed any teacher as being “hot” regardless of how other teachers looked. Female students on the other hand . . . !

Most of them do, it seems. They usually report to the police or their parents after several encounters with the teacher.
Most likely what happens is the young men stay quiet for as long as they think the "relationship" will continue, and only report once they think the gravy train has ended.
Which makes sense in a way. To a lot of adolescent (and some adult) males, the next best thing to having sex with a woman is being able to brag about it to others.
I served on a jury in a basically identical case in Texas. After the first day I thought I might end up causing a hung jury because I did not think I could send the man to jail based on what I had heard so far. To my surprise most of the jurors had the same feeling, and at the end we voted for acquittal. Afterward we received a tongue lashing from one of the prosecutors. We pointed out that he seemed not to have heard of "reasonable doubt".
I was thinking the same thing, it was sooooo great to do it with a teacher that he just had to tell his “one” best friend, who then told his best friend, and by the fifth or sixth person everyone knows.

Maybe I'm just into older chix, but I remember being in second grade and thinking my teacher was HOT...
