This is silly. The Germans called our troops occupation forces as well and continue to do so regardless and what they think of their presence. Barr did pretty well but could have pointed out that Boortz’s history is wrong. According to the lastest evidence, a MAJORITY of Americans always favored independence. John Adams famous letter (one third against, one third in favor, one third indifferent) was refering to American attitudes toward the French Revolution in the 1790s

occupy

invade, occupy

march aggressively into another’s territory by military force for the purposes of conquest and occupation;

I don’t see how Barr is wrong here.

I simply used to LOVE Bob Barr but I think that with his “new found” opinions and political stances, he will gain far more votes from the “anti-Obama/Hillary” “anti-war” libs than entrenched conservatives who know in their heart of hearts, that Iraq is merely one front on the War on Terror!

Barr is a big fan of protecting our civil rights by destroying the Patriot Act. He wants us to be proud of our commitment to civil rights as the islamists chop our heads off. He is a dangerous shmuck.

I’m an old guy here but I remember that during the Clinton era most here actually regarded the federal government (as in Waco and clipper chips) as the number one threat to civil liberties. Now.....many are willing to give it a blank check. I guess it all depends on who is in power. They will probably change their tune when Obama starts spying on them but then it will be too late.

So this means that John McCain is the only Presidential candidate that supports our being in Iraq.

Sure, McCain supports our troops in Iraq. Too bad he hates conservatives, wants to leave our borders wide open to illegals and terrorists alike, and doesn’t much like gun owners who could otherwise protects themselves from “sudden jihad syndrome”.

Maybe if Cindy released her tax records it might reveal McCain's real interest in Iraq war. I have close family in the military and we do not believe he supports our troops - not how he treated the POW issue and his attitude towards the families of POW.

Our biggest danger comes not from Iraq but from the illegal aliens and immigrants from enemy nations in this country and from the open borders. Yet McCain is in a frenzy for amnesty and open borders. He even voted against the Cronyn amendment - that is insane. He was only one of ten Republicans to oppose it.

Its nice that you have the Obama/DNC talking points memorized. What is it like at the DU lately ? That Cindy Mccain like big threat with all her boys serving in Iraqi. Its odd how you were never interested in Teresa Heinze Kerry’s taxes that she never released. You can take that comment back to the DU.

What record? Boortz is being just plain silly.

The The Germans have called American troops "occupation troops" for decades, including by those who want them there, and nobody gives it a second thought. Heck, back after World War II, the U.S. government even helped to set up "occupation zones." Is Boortz offended by that too?

This is 2008, “occupation” is the parlance of the Islamic Cults who kill Iraqis, Israelis, and innocents worldwide, by targeting marketplaces, restaurants, school buses, and houses of worship. They use this word in a negative connotation for a rationalization for terrorism.

As do the UnAmerican left, and those on the right who despise the State of Israel, and believe they are the source of instability in the ME.

But, you know that I'm sure.

Occupation is a neutral term (hence its long-time use in Germany) but.....some folks in the PC police are offended by anything.

Again, this is 2008, and terrorists have used the lie of Israel “occupation” for 30 years, as a rational for killing children on their school buses.

The enemies of America use it also, before and after 9/11.

Bob Barr, Ron Paul, Alex Jones, Pat Buchanan use it also.

They know exactly what they are saying, and who they are saying it to.

As do you, so lets not pretend its some “PC offense”.

A non-argument. Stalin and Hitler believed in the law of gravity but this doesn't negate the law of gravity. "Occupation troops" is a completely neutral term no more offensive that "occupying an apartment." I have no more patience for the conservative PC police than I have for the leftist version. If this is the best argument that Boortz has, however, Barr is in good shape.

Get a grip on yourself, troll. This is my last comment to you - I usually do not reply to posters who become hysterical and lie.

Cindy Sheehan also had a child in Iraq. So does Sen. Webb, and so do I. Good and bad people have children in the military. So what? That has no relevant to Cindy McCain's character. She is creepy, refuses to release her tax returns, and she was okay with having an affair with a married man whose wife was seriously ill. She embezzled, and she had or has a drug problem. You must admit, a role model she is not.

On this board posters express different opinions - look up the definition of opinion. You have no say as to who is allowed or not allowed to express opinions.

You apparently have been on left websites since you claim to know what they state. Actually I have not bothered for a long time to check them. It is safe to assume that they are not unhappy with Obama/Hillary/McCain since the 3 are lefties. I will not vote for any of them and have repeatedly said so.

This is stupid. The U.S. government and everyone else called our occupation of Germany and Japan an occupation. We called our troops “the Army of occupation”. The following is the cover page of a U.S. Army publication. The Army has no problem calling it an occupation.

You are right. The grossly misnamed Patriot Act was Janet Reno’s wet dream. She tried to get it passed after Oklahoma City but Republicans blocked it.

The next Janet Reno has it and will use it in ways few here will like.

Precisely, those here (on the record) who agree with Barr and Paul using the parlance of the left and the Islamic Cults, do think Barr is in “good shape”.

My point exactly, obviously they use these terms to attract certain voters, it is very clear. No real dispute here.

Here we are in 2008, with Bob Barr taking the reigns from H. Ross Perot.

Have no doubt, Barr's effect on the election will have the same result.

What nerve and how pathetic. You spit out a series of ugly lies about Cindy and John McCain being Iraqi war profiteers and you call me a troll. You didn’t even know the McCain have there own Marine sons in Iraqi. Now that you have been outed ,you try to cover your tracks by screaming troll at everyone else. Cinda McCain is a decent lady that has worked hard for numerous charities including Mother Teresa charity and you push lies about her with out an ounce of facts to back you up .The moderator should have yanked you off a long time ago.
