Pelosi Statement on California State Supreme Court Ruling on Gay Marriage (Some Speaker we have)

WASHINGTON, May 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement in reaction to the California Supreme Court's decision today to strike the state ban on gay marriage:

"I welcome the California Supreme Court's historic decision. I have long fought against discrimination and believe that the State Constitution provides for equal treatment for all of California's citizens and families, which today's decision recognizes.

"I commend the plaintiffs from San Francisco for their courage and commitment. I encourage California citizens to respect the Court's decision, and I continue to strongly oppose any ballot measure that would write discrimination into the State Constitution.

This is some real ammunition for the GOP to remind voters what the head of our Congress is really like. She better realize that all the Blue Dogs that are getting elected these days will run from a statement like this. Any comment Travis Childers or Don Cazayoux?

The homosexual activists may have won a battle (by a bare-bones 4-3 majority in California of all places) but they most certainly HAVE NOT WON THE WAR. Conservatives, get it together, we have battles to fight.
