Hi Fudd Fan
Hi Everybody.
FYI: From www.numbersusa.com
DEAR FRIENDS,
On a 17-12 vote this afternoon, the Senate Appropriations Committee added Sen. Feinstein’s ag amnesty to the Iraq supplemental spending bill.
This bill could come up for a vote before the full Senate tomorrow.
Every phone of every Senator should be ringing off the hook as soon as I click SEND on this alert.
Please pick up your phone the minute you read this and call:
202-224-3121
Call the offices of both of your state’s U.S. Senators and tell them:
The Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday afternoon committed an outrageous act of disrespect for our men and women in uniform and to the citizens of this country by attaching an illegal-alien amnesty to the Iraq spending bill.
Urge the Senator to vote and work to strip the amnesty from the Iraq spending bill on the floor.
You - or the Senator - may already oppose this spending bill. But if the Senator is inclined to vote YES on the Iraq bill, ask the Senator to definitely vote NO and send it back to committee if the amnesty is NOT stripped.
There is no need for an amnesty to provide growers with workers. There already is an H-2A foreign ag worker program that provides growers with an unlimited number of temporary workers if the growers agree to pay a decent wage and ensure that they go home at the end of the season. Feinstein is just trying to protect the abysmally low wages and bad working conditions that farmworkers labor under.
Here are additional talking points (and the names of your two Senators, plus additional phone numbers):
http://www.numbersusa.com/phones?ID=10121
Expect that many staffers will either have no idea what is going on or will be lying to you. Some of you were reporting to us that Sen. Feinstein’s staffers were telling you that she had no intention of attaching an amnesty this afternoon at the precise time that the committee was voting on her proposal to attach!!!!!
Unless Senators see an outpouring of disgust and outrage similar to what you waged a year ago, they will interpret it to be safe to vote an amnesty this year.
Besides an estimated 1.2 million illegal alien ag workers, all the millions of illegal aliens in their families would apparently get an amnesty, also.
Good luck. You are the only force that stands between some semblance of the rule of law and massive rewards for illegal immigration.
Hi ag!
Howdy Biggirl
Hi!
Hush+you!+Not+over+yet!
Hi HC!
I just want to let everyone know, since you have all been so supportive and helpful.
My friends’ daughter died yesterday. The service was today (they’re Jewish so it is quick). I was working and it was short notice so I didn’t go. However I should be going to their home within the week when they have their shivva (sp?).
Needless to say they are devastated. This woman worked as the children’s librarian for nearly 30 years, and the past 4 or 5 she was the Youth Services Director at our Library. So she has positively touched many lives, which is far more important than the insidious disease that ravaged her body.
Thanks again for keeping the family in your prayers.
Unfortunately, my two worthless Senators are Feingold and Kohl. Both are flaming moonbats.
Well the games now are at the Celts house!
I’m sensing a LEVIN SURGE!
Hiya Biggirl!
Hi 50cal!
Hey B.g. :-p
Thank-you FF for the update. Prayers.
Hiya Biggirl!
Democratic presidential hopeful US Senator Barack Obama, seen here on May 14, 2008, gained the backing of four more Democratic leaders Thursday to take him closer to shutting Hillary Clinton out of the race to the party's nomination
Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., right, waves to supporters after being introduced by Shah Hasan, president of the Board of Trustees for the Columbus Metropolitan Club, left, before speaking at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, Thursday, May 15, 2008.

Before I forget also, condolences.
From NBC’s Mike Viqueira
A former House GOP leader is calling this year’s political atmosphere “the worst since Watergate and is far more toxic than the fall of 2006,” citing “deep seeded (sic) antipathy toward the president.”
Rep. Tom Davis wrote a 20-page treatise (see earlier note) assessing the state of the Republican Party as we head into the summer and presented it to House GOP rank and file this morning. Davis, who is retiring, is rumored to be interested in finishing his term as the head of the GOP House campaign arm.
We are hearing a lot today from Republicans and their concern about their “brand,” and Davis takes it to another level in his memo; “a congressional GOP brand tied to George Bush is struggling”; “...deep seeded antipathy toward the president, the war, gas prices, the economy, foreclosures and, in some areas, the underlying cultural differences that continue to brand our party.”
And the kicker, “the Republican brand is in the trash can...if we were dog food, they would take us off the shelf.”
And just in case anyone is laboring under the illusion that the party can remake itself in the image of John McCain, Davis asserts, “McCain has his own branding and it is not consistent with congressional Republican branding.”
Thanks, guys. Much appreciated.
Just caught a news report of this woman who helps our armed forces people get reunited with dogs/puppies that they fine in Iraq. =^..^=
I think it is called Baghdad Pups. =^..^=
Hello. I must be going
