Speaking in Israel, President George Bush today slammed the policy of appeasement that led to World War II and the extermination of 6 million Jews in the Holocaust, the same policy approach he said some today favor in dealing with terrorist states such as Iran. President Bush never mentioned the name "Barack Obama" in his remarks, but the Obama campaign has stepped right in the subtle trap by decrying Bush's attack on him. He obviously recognized himself in Bush's remarks! The liberal media is going crazy, as are the Democrats. Listen to what Bush actually said . . . (Video)
Sen. John McCain wasted no time taking advantage of the situation by asking out loud what it is Barack Obama wants to talk about with the brutal Iranian thug of a leader - Ahmadinejad . . .(Video)

He obviously stepped in a trap, because I am sure the President was referring to Jimmy Carter, who the administration had specifically told not to meet with Hamas.

I will not vote for McCain, but I can see that this speech in Israel certainly looks like a trap for Obama.
What can Obama say about it? We do not and will not support Israel?
Even the Democrat Party regular blow hards have already stepped in it from what I have been seeing.

You hit the nail on the head. McCain or a member of the RNC most likely has sent the email to the Whitehouse to cool it.
What kills me is Bush tried working with the Dems. Ted Kennedy’s school bill ring a bell? It won’t be any different for a President McCain. Who after November will still be a Minority Senator, I’m afraid to say.

If GWB spent every last hour of his presidency bluntly describing every liberal he could name in the most vulgar, four-letter terminology he could come up with, he wouldn't even approach the nastiness and slime the Dems have thrown at him over the last 7 years.
And they're outraged over THIS??
If I were Bush, I'd start making up for lost time...what's he got to lose?

I noticed right away Democrats speaking out against Bush’s remarks.Where are the Republicans defending them? That’s why we are losing seats in both houses.
To: patriciamary
Republicans have turned into chicken chet. If they back Bush on this someone on MSNBC might say something bad about them.

He obviously recognized himself in Bush's remarks! This has to be remembered. I note even Fox News assumes GWB directly critized Senator Obama. Not true. POTUS simply said the obvious--pandering to terrorists does not work.

From what I heard McCain backed up the presidents comments, and tacked on his own, specifically about Obama.

McCain was wrong to link the statements of President Bush to Iran. He should have linked them to Malley, the recently fired Obama foreign policy advisor who had been meeting with the leaders of Hamas, regularly. McCain is letting Obama off the hook on that one.

I heard they complained about him being on foreign soil, while criticizing people who appease terrorist.
I guess Nancy et al forgot about meeting with the president of Syria and bashing Bush while doing it.
