Reid Rejects President's Reckless And Irresponsible Remarks

May 15, 2008 Reid Rejects President's Reckless And Irresponsible Remarks Calls on President to Explain Inconsistency Between Administration Actions and His Words Today

Washington, DC—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today in response to President Bush’s remarks before the Israeli Knesset:

“Not surprisingly, the engineer of the worst foreign policy in our nation’s history has fired yet another reckless and reprehensible round. More than seven years into his Presidency and in the sixth year of the directionless Iraq war, President Bush has yet to learn that his brand of divisive partisan rhetoric is precisely what has made America and our allies less secure. And for the President to make this statement before the government of our closest ally as it celebrates a remarkable milestone demeans this historic moment with partisan politics.

“President Bush’s own actions demonstrate that he believes negotiations – at the right moment, under the right conditions and with the right leaders – can both show strength and produce results. He has relied on negotiations with North Korea and Libya, two state sponsors of terror. And by conducting discussions with Russia, China, Libya, North Korea and Iran in recent years, President Bush has demonstrated his belief that negotiations can be a tool to advance America and Israel’s national security interests. I call on the President to explain the inconsistency between his Administration’s actions and his words today.”

Bush could say “the sky is blue” and reid and iron head pelosi would put out a press release decrying Bush’s irresponsible use of the visible spectrum. This is so lame. I wonder if they even have the courage of their convictions, or is this a complete political stunt. Wait, I know the answer to that...

You noticed that too, eh?

I'm starting to hate this republican party worse than the democrats. At least the dems have tenacity. The republicans have nothing. When it's all over, the blame for what's happened to this country will be squarely on their shoulders.

I do not remember it as always being like this. politicians before Ted Kennedy got away with so much. I think that the outrageous bias of the MSM has encouraged politicians to bring their former back room bickering out into the public view.

These modern Democrats are so slimy and sinister that they make their supporters appear to be ignoramuses and moronic chumps.

Their hubris hopefully will be their downfall, but I think that they have probably judged their base correctly.

Because it's an impossible task. Bush hit them between the eyes with the truth. Kicking and screaming is all they've got.

After the way they spinelessly refused to fight on any level while the enemies within, in full demon-shriek, tore down this Great President 24/7/365 I am ready to let them all go down the drain and just give it over to the dims. These slimy jerks have given up any right to be supported by the rest of us. I am now moving to the group who believes we need to wash the so called pubs out in a landslide as the only hope that the message will be delivered that conservatives with stones, and none other, must rise up if ever the left is to be defeated.

May this wretched, evil man rot in hell,
May the sons and daughters of this wretched, evil man curse his name,
May his remaining days on earth be as dark and horrible as the words he spoke.
May we never hear his utterances without cleansing our souls with prayer for decency and good
May this wretched, evil man’s party wither away to dust and blow in the winds disappearing into a bleak wilderness.
God Bless George Bush, a REAL American Hero!

Then Dems are a well oiled machine.

Yes: well-oiled and sticking it right up America's ass.

The President struck a nerve because he called the Democrats on their treachery. They insist on a foreign policy based on apology and the presumption of American guilt, and criticize their own President loudly and publicly, but then pretend to be offended when they themselves are criticized for their perfidious behavior. And whenever the Bush Administration has given in to its weaker impulses and agreed to negotiate with slave states and terrorists, instead of congratulating Republicans, the Democrats have (predictably) chastised them for being unprincipled, as Harry Reid did in essence today.

Are you listening America? These are the people to whom you would entrust the security of yourselves and your children. This is not a game, it is life and death, and the Democrats have chosen sides against their own nation. I think we used to have a name for this behavior, back in the days when reason ruled.

I don't wish to be unkind to Sen Reid, but every time I see a picture of him, I can't help but think he should be playing a banjo in a sequel to Deliverance.

I live in S NV now, and I recently read an article about the great works of Harry Reid, including the fact that “Sen Reid kicked the Mob out of Las Vegas.” Well, I guess we should be thankful for that!?!?
