WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States has warned Beijing over reported use of Chinese weapons by insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the Asian giant's continued sale of arms to Iran, Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte said Thursday.

He said he conveyed the concerns personally to Chinese officials during his visit to Beijing this week.

"Just the other day, Monday, when I was in Beijing, this was one of the issues I raised -- concern about Chinese weapons or Chinese-designed weapons showing up in some of these battle areas, be it Iraq or Afghanistan," he told a congressional hearing on US-China ties.

Well good, another toothless warning.

Red China was an enemy when Clinton traded our nuclear weapons secrets for campaign cash, and they are still an enemy.

I’ve been avoiding criticizing our ChiCom trolls due to the recent earthquake and have refrained from writing about these ChiCom goons.

Time to get back to normalcy, I guess.

When I told my cousin and her husband, both now US citizens, about this charge they said, “knowing the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) and Norinco (one of the chief manufacturers of munitions), we’d believe it without substantiation. They would do anything for money and power and probably have already.”

I was flabbergasted when Norinco officials attended some of the Clinton White House coffees; after all, they weren’t even US citizens or a US company. I think a young gal originally from Thailand organized the fiasco.

A few years later agents from Norinco tried to sell Ak-47s and SKS rifles to LA-based gangs. I think an FBI sting rounded them up.

Come on, you are blaming us for all your input.
I mean, you can’t blame a seller for low price, right?
Face the truth, everything should be go under rules, we shall improve our quality, and stop selling guns to your enemy. But you should also stop talking all crap and invite us to the reconstruction of Iraq. That is a fair bargain.

Negroponte told the US senators that Washington "made it clear" to Beijing that Chinese entities' continued sale of conventional weapons to Iran "is unacceptable."

He said that China understood the US position that Iran presented "a grave international and regional security concern, and that our government reserves the right to apply all multilateral, bilateral and unilateral measures at our disposal to ensure that our concerns are addressed.

"We reinforce this message at every opportunity," he said.

In the olden days this would have been a warning to China that Iran is about to take it in the neck and anybody who continues to help them will take it in the neck as well. In the olden days. I hope it's not just another toothless warning, but I'm not taking bets.

After Reagan, the "toothless warning" era began.
