New Republican Party
The Patriot Post ^ | 5/16/08 | Ronald Reagan

Posted on 05/16/2008 9:42:56 AM PDT by Jim 0216

“We, the members of the New Republican Party, believe that the preservation and enhancement of the values that strengthen and protect individual freedom, family life, communities and neighborhoods and the liberty of our beloved nation should be at the heart of any legislative or political program presented to the American people... Our task now is not to sell a philosophy, but to make the majority of Americans, who already share that philosophy, see that modern conservatism offers them a political home... The job is ours and the job must be done. If not by us, who? If not now, when? Our party must be the party of the individual. It must not sell out the individual to cater to the group. No greater challenge faces our society today than ensuring that each one of us can maintain his dignity and his identity in an increasingly complex, centralized society. Extreme taxation, excessive controls, oppressive government competition with business... frustrated minorities and forgotten Americans are not the products of free enterprise. They are the residue of centralized bureaucracy, of government by a self-anointed elite. Our party must be based on the kind of leadership that grows and takes its strength from the people. Any organization is in actuality only the lengthened shadow of its members. A political party is a mechanical structure created to further a cause. The cause, not the mechanism, brings and holds the members together. And our cause must be to rediscover, reassert and reapply America’s spiritual heritage to our national affairs. Then with God’s help we shall indeed be as a city upon a hill with the eyes of all people upon us.”

Is Reagan going to be America's last great president?

I like it and I think a lot of people are feeling exactly this way right now.

McCain the latest self-anointed elite wants to be your divine emperor.

McCain the latest self-anointed elite wants to be your divine emperor.

Hard to believe that in 28 years the GOP has gone from having Reagan as its candidate now to a man best fit to be the offical spokesman for Bean-No.

In other words in 28 years we’ve gone from Ronaldus Magnus (Ronald the Great) to Little Juan.

The Republican Party is the new Democratic Party. The Democratic Party is the new Socialist (fascist) Party. How viable is the Falcon Party?

I think that we will end up finding that Reagan was a rarity in the Republican Party. Perhaps the last gasp in a dying Republic?

Maybe, but I’m keeping an eye out on politicians like Bobby Jindal, or Tom McClintock here locally in CA.

One can never predict the future. Things did look pretty bleak in the 60s and 70s for a while.

Even if we do not run for office, persuade people around you of the lunacy of liberalism. Remind people how poorly the government does things, from the DMV to the Post Office to the IRS to public education. Remind them how much they spend on public schools (~10k a head here in CA)! The most hated institutions are in government, not private business. Enron is nothing compared to the bungling that the Federal Government (and often State Government) has done with our tax dollars. Enron effected a comparatively small number of shareholders compared to the massive debt that the Feds hang over every American’s grandchildren.

Start the effort on the grass roots, remind people why conservatism and libertarianism work. Hard work and industry still works in this country as hard as the government tries to keep you back.

Oh, and the RNC is dead to me. Not a dime more until they start to promote conservatism, and not this “compassionate conservatism bullcrap”.

Reagan had a real gift for describing things in ways that the average person could apply to situations in their own life. We have to start preaching core values, and then we can show people how the core values affect every aspect of the political conversation.

Remind people that they are a slave to the state for almost 4 months of the year in order to pay their taxes!

Otherwise, it becomes a fight between Meanie Conservatives and Compassionate Liberals. Which is why we have the inane concept of “Compassionate Conservatism”. Makes me want to puke. Conservatism IS Compassionate!

Not unless the GOP dumps McCain or he manages to scuttle his global warming and amnesty plans

Not very viable, considering we are all of 3 months old. Our goal is to be loaded for bear by 2012.

Any chance on backing a candidate that wants to take out Voinovich in 2010?

Help me - I don't want to get my hopes up yet...

Who's on board with this party?

What about the Falcon Party makes it a better choice than the Constitution party?

What is the likelihood that various splinter conservative parties will come under the Falcon Party?

Why would the Falcon Party be where this most likely would occur?

We are a months old party. It’s going to take time and effort. Just peruse the website and decide if it is a good fit for you.

As far as the CP goes, we have no intention of surrendering to the islamists as they do. In fact we want to eradicate them like the cockroaches they are. It’s like the difference between Churchill and Chamberlain when it comes to foreign policy.
