It was a night filled with costumes, kegs, and partying. One problem, it took place at the Colorado Governor's Mansion.
photos posted on the internet show Governor Bill Ritter's 22-year-old son August Ritter III drinking from a keg at a recent masquerade party held at the historic home.
The other picture shows August Ritter and an unidentified female playing around with the state flag.
An invitation, reading, "Mansion Masquerade-Because Life is Too Tasty Not to Party"-

Some of the partying occurs on the 100-year-old mansion’s first floor, which is filled with historic art and antiques...

As for the online invitation’s suggestion that state troopers will be doing crowd control, Dreyer said that was an attempt at humor.

Hey, those are my legislators you’ve got pictured there!
No party affiliation mentioned - therefore, Democrat.
Had this been one of the Bush twins.....
If one of the Bush girls did this there would be screams for resignation.
I think I recognize Senator Blutarski in the front row.

August Ritter III is going to make a great DemocRAT.
“therefore, Democrat”
nailed it.
Getting ready for the DNC in August
If you're going to "give" someone a "mansion" to live in (or car or cell phone, etc) don't get your butt up in the air when they treat it like THEIR mansion (or personal property).
That's what you invite. That's what will happen.
Maybe Colorado should arrange a reserved single room at a motel 6 when he is in town and the rest of the time he can live in his OWN home in the suburbs.
And frankly, if he can't manage having his own home to begin with, he shouldn't be governor.
IMO, of course - and the kid's 22 so he can do beer bongs or whatever all he wants.
/bingo
I think that’s the Senator’s biggest donor, a renowned Beverly Hills ob-gyn, in the red sweater.
Clintoon guests partying in the Lincoln Bedroom.
I sure wish I hadn't planned my trip for that time. I guess I'll just have to log on to FR to read about the fun! Hopefully other CO FReepers will post eyewitness accounts.
Do you think keg parties hosted by the governor’s son are an appropriate use of the Governor’s Mansion?

Are you flying thru DIA ?
Who were those lowlifes anyway? Bill’s bimbos? Markie Post was one of them, IIRC.... what a waste of oxygen that one was/is......
Markie Post & Susan Thomases
Naw, Conyers would start impeachment proceedings.
Mostly I agree about BFDness.
Slight disagreement: Assuming the mansion is for the OFFICIAL use of the governor (plus HIS personal use, as one cannot expect the governor to have a separate “personal” residence), really an adult son should not be having parties of any formal nature there. (I suppose I’m exempting his having a few friends over to, say, watch some movies or NBA playoffs.) It’s just unseemly. But is it a scandal? Meh, I don’t see it.
Thanks geo. Demwits on Parade!
Uh, yeah. Don’t see what the problem is. He’s of legal drinking age. And that’s where he lives. Where else would he have a party?
Really. If there are valuable artifacts in the house, they should be put in a museum if people are all that concerned about them.

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
Yes - 3 days before the convention.
Excellent use of the mansion since gov. ritter is a well known prostitute. Gotta have some beer at the brothel, ya know.
August III should rent a room at Motel 6 next time ?
Yikes.
Bring your camera.
I don’t think you understand. I was hoping to be here in CO for the fun. Instead I’ll be out of the country. LOL!
With a name like that I would drink heavily, too!
Next time I should look at your home page first.
8-)
You will miss all the fun.
Although you may see some of the lossers arriving at DIA.
Where are you going ?
On a Mediterranean cruise with family - places I have either never been to or haven’t visited since the late 60’s. Should be fun!
A friend and I toured the old Colorado’s governor’s mansion one time; it contains beautiful, priceless antiques and paintings.
The staff should hide the good stuff ?
Correction: Markie Post and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason
At the time, it was all good stuff. Just an amazing, lovely collection. Bet everything didn’t survive the frat party.
August Ritter is a punk just like his daddy.
August and a female friend fool around with the state flag in the Governor's mansion in December.
I heard on KOA this afternoon that there were protests in front of the Governor's mansion today by those who want to legalize pot, protesting that they weren't invited to party.
A real doozy, isn't it? HAHAHA
We taxpayers paid plenty to bring that mansion 'up to snuff' for Ritter and his spoiled son to live in!
Here's hoping he only resides there for one term:-(
I would have done the same. I voted yes in the poll.
Really, people. Much bigger things to worry about in CO and around the country.
LOL

I remember that very well :-)
