Rasmussen Reports ^ | May 16, 2008

The re-election prospects for Washington Governor Christine Gregoire (D) have improved significantly over the past two months. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Washington voters shows Gregoire leading her Republican challenger, Dino Rossi, by eleven percentage points. It’s Gregoire 52% Rossi 41%.

In late March, Gregoire was up by just a statistically insignificant single percentage point. In February, Rossi had a one point advantage. Four years ago, the 2004 election between the same two candidates was one of the closest elections in the state’s history.

The GOP seems to be on the down-trend. The dog days of summer will hopefully pick up after the weather cools.

I hope it changes but Rossi just isn’t out there. Gregoire has been all over the state doing her thing.

Dino would have to win by about 5-10 points to bridge the margin of fraud.

Too true.

I have offered support to Rossi but all they want is money.

The polls don’t matter, it’s who gets to count the vote!

It was a telephone poll:

how many Republicans hang around to answer the landline?

The DNC stole the last one just long enough to import more dhim voters, and now the vote is (probably) legitimate.

Sounds like they have now begun polling dead people.

I’m a 19 year old conservative that works full-time and attends college full-time. I do not carry a cell phone nor have any desires to do so. Not everyone has one of those things growing out of the side of their head.

I inherited the moniker from my Dad. He passed away last fall. However, in my formative years I would read articles and posts (FR) while my Dad worked. I learned alot and actually improved my reading skills tremendously as well as learning (and practicing) the traits of a good conservative..

My condolences on your father. You said he was a former NH legislator ? You should send his biographical data to Lawrence Kestenbaum at this site: http://politicalgraveyard.com/ He’ll qualify to be listed there (if he isn’t already).

I do not carry a cell phone nor have any desires to do so.

What a baffling statement. If you have a land line, why don't you have a cell phone? Unless you're a hermit, cell technology is probably most useful instrument ever invented. My cell phone has resulted in the apprehension of a hit-and-run driver (a Greyhound bus, no less), the reporting of multiple DUI drivers, and it has saved me when my car broke down on a desolate road. I have avoided missed appointments, received calls from my kids' schools when they were injured on the playground, and been pulled out of night school when my dad had a heart attack. Countless times, I have avoided inconvenience and tragedy ranging from the mundane to the very important due to my cell phone and phone camera.

Do you still ride a horse to work?

As a matter of fact I do...in addition to my 1953 Chevy pick-up my Dad and I restored. BTW...I'm working on a Bachelors Degree in Ranch Management @ Purdue University.

I don’t own a cell phone, either. When I’ve borrowed them, I personally detest talking into the damn things. I like something that actually reaches from my ear to my mouth, like a good old fashioned phone.

Thanks to Clintonfatigued for the ping. IMHO, it is time for every FReeper to get out there and do something, even if it's to walk just one parade route or to help in just one mailing. fter that y'all get to live wi

Just voting simply isn't enough. If you REALLY want to win, commit to an hour or maybe two doing something you feel comfortable doing. As with FR,you'll likely find yourself among like-minded folk -- and you'll find some of them are your neighbors.

She’s been ostentatiously in the public eye, campaigning diligently as long as she has been Governor, somewhat in the mode of Bubba Clinton, who hardly let a fortnight pass without a televised announcement of something, anything that he had done for one or more of the many victim classes that comprise the American electorate.
Mother Gregoire has lotsa bucks, and I doubt very much that illegal voting gimmicks have been purged from the state of Washington. She will be governor as long as she wants to be.

That's probably somewhat true, but it's also true that he gets little help in getting "out there". I was in Seattle on business about a month ago and tuned into the local news. They had a long feature story about how Gregoire was kicking off her campaign. Showed her out in the masses with that fake smile. After the three-minute piece and as the picture is fading out, they chime in with "....and Dino Rossi started his campaign as well."

That seems reasonable. It's always good to get back to the east side of the state.
