Conservative radio talk show host and Constitutional lawyer Mark Levin on Friday called for MSNBC to suspend Keith Olbermann as a result of his deplorable remarks concerning American soldiers and President Bush.
As my colleague Brad Wilmouth reported [0], Olbermann on Wednesday's "Countdown" "accused the President of 'panoramic and murderous deceit,' and of 'creating' an America that 'includes cold-blooded killers who will kill people to achieve their political objectives.'"
This didn't sit well with Levin who on Friday gave Olbermann the tongue-lashing his employers at MSNBC would give him if they possessed any shred of decency or common sense (audio available here [1] thanks to our friend Johnny Dollar [2]):
Let me tell you, this guy is really the scum of the earth...Hey Olbermann, I said you're the scum of the earth. And you know damn well what I'm talking about. [...]
This is the highest rated guy on MSNBC because he's taken up a radical position which one of his girlfriends wrote me and said he doesn't even believe, but does it, and he does it for ratings, because he knows there are nutjobs out there who will tune him in. But this is over the line. [...]
I'm calling on MSNBC to suspend Keith Olbermann because in the middle of a war, I don't think a phony journalist should be able to use his position to give aid and comfort to the enemy, and worse than that even, to smear the American GI. [...]

I believe in firing his ass! Why have boycotts and censorship? Fire his ass! And yet, I'm compassionate. I said, "At least, suspend him. Let's meet halfway on this." And I'll tell you why. If in World War II, Tokyo Rose were given a format like MSNBC night after night to undermine the American GI, to give aid and comfort to the terrorists, to pander to the worst elements of American society, to become a propagandist for the enemy, it would not have been tolerated. It's not as if Keith Olbermann brings anything to the table. He's a very dumb guy. He's not qualified to be a newscaster. He's not qualified to hold serious opinions, and that's why he relies on the Daily Kos, a Media Matters, leftwing Democrat operatives for his talking points each and every night. But for MSNBC, and NBC, and GE to prop this guy up and give him a soapbox, I'm sorry. He is the anti-soldier. This isn't an academic matter where we're debating some issue of import, but not an issue of life and death, but he is the mouthpiece, the prominent mouthpiece for our enemy. How is it that only the liberals can make issues out of things they want to make issues out of when they're offended? NBC clings to this bitter, little know-nothing because he gets ratings from the far left in this country. The hate America, commie-left. They tell everybody, "Watch Olbermann, watch Olbermann." And so he plays to them, he panders to them. I see the hair-splitting going on. The fact is, if he were to compare any American to al Qaeda terrorists, it's so over the top. And yet to do it in the context of the United States military. I know what he's talking about. I'm not going to have the spin fly here, I can tell you that. It is so grotesque. And I am demanding that MSNBC say something about this, do something about this because Keith Olbermann is basically Tokyo Rose in a suit.

Levin is a good man, but MSNBC is a crapbag network and most everyone in it is a rotten Bolshevik. No way any thing is done about Olbermann.

General Electric (parent of NBC) has a calculated interest in MSNBC. Attract the 18% of Americans who are liberal nut-jobs and establish a core viewership. Of course, liberal nut-jobs despise advertising, so advertisers are getting hosed.
When it collapses on itself, eliminate MSNBC and NBC sails on with little damage.

How many people watch this guy? I tried to watch him...once and the smarm and sneer bit jsut made it impossible to watch or to take the guy seriously..literally, everytime I see a clip of him there is a clown nose staring back at me...

On the other hand, Levin’s show is quite good. I called in yesterday to make some crack about Obama, but my cell phone fizzled out after holding for fifteen minutes.
Not at the moment, but I expect that in the not very distant future there will be a terrorist attack that takes out DC, Congress, and the POTUS.

GE is a fairly dishonest company. Well, at least their present CEO Jeff Immelt is fairly dishonest. He SURELY misled investors about the state of GE’s business before its last earnings report. The SEC has regulations against such shenanigans, but the SEC is not only toothless but clueless. One must remember Chris Cox and his boys did not see the subprime meltdown coming by allowing public corporations to value assets which were not really assets but worthless loans. Former GE CEO Jack Welch took Immelt to task but later softened his remarks with a recant. The CEO of GE is not to be trusted anymore than Olberman who is an employee of its subsidiary. Do not expect GE to do the right thing by the public when it cannot do the right thing by its public owners called stockholders.

If it weren’t for the fact that I know nobody watches MSNBC I would care. But I 200% agree. Keith O. is the worst of the worst. He doesn’t hide his bias and hatred for Republicans, Conservatives, the GOP, America, Bush, and the U.S. Military.
MSNBC is the worst network on the air and that is really saying something with some of those really far out leftist channels one can find on Dish or DirecTV.
MSNBC needs to be yanked off the air.
Keith gets his talking points directly from Dan Abraham who is a jealous program director and hack host of some really weak ass program late evenings. He hates Fox News because they continue to clean MSNBC’s clock and goes out of his way on a nightly basis to point out how much he hates Fox News.
It is like listening to a high school kid who is getting his ass beaten every day for being a wise ass..just whine and whine. The entire channel needs to be gutted like a fish.
That being said, after today's cookie cutter coverage of dear old Ted's seizure by all three of the Cable stations, I'm swearing them off as much as I can - And that includes Fox. They are identical in terms of coverage and repetition. I can get much more news without the aggravation here!

He doesn’t believe anything he says. He’s doing it strictly for the money. He has no principles, liberal or conservative.
His only passion is Bill O’Reilly. Keith thinks that O’Reilly’s success stems from being a “conservative bomb thrower,” whatever that is, so Keith thinks that he can someday be as big as O’Reilly by being a liberal bomb thrower.
In private, Keith tells racist jokes, tells misogynist jokes, and gloats about the publicity he gets for his shtick. He doesn’t care about the country, the troops, or politics one way or another. All he cares about is money, fame, and groupies.
I’m telling you this, FReepers, to try and lessen the impact of Keith’s poison. He isn’t a true believer.
That actually makes what he does worse, yes, because it’s utterly cynical and self-serving. But when I learned the truth about him—and I trust my friend implicitly—it made it easier for me to deal with Keith.
He is a fraud. He isn’t crazy, unhinged, or anti-American. He doesn’t hate the troops, the president, or conservatives; he feels nothing about them. He has no core beliefs except ambition. He doesn’t love or hate anything. He does what he does because it brings him money, publicity, and young leftist women with open legs.
Don’t let him raise your blood pressure. Feel sorry for him, that he’s so empty he would sell his soul for fleeting fame, wealth, and sensory pleasure.
