Hillary turns fire on media (Attacks Matthews, Olbermann)
Politico ^ | 5/17/08 | KENNETH P. VOGEL

Posted on 05/17/2008 8:31:26 PM PDT by tlb

PORTLAND, Ore. – Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is increasingly aiming its punches not at her front-running opponent Barack Obama, but at the media.

On the campaign trail, in a new ad and in her meetings with donors and superdelegates, she blasts the D.C. punditocracy for counting her out and urges anyone who’ll listen to ignore the hardening storyline that places Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee.

The Clinton camp believes a media backlash drove up turnout among her supporters in West Virginia, which last week delivered a landslide 67 percent to 26 percent victory for her.

The ad, titled "What's Right," shows video snippets of a cadre of television show hosts who have dismissed or downplayed Clinton’s chances – NBC’s Tim Russert, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and MSNBC anchors Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.

“People in the upcoming states don’t want to be told that their voices don’t count and essentially that’s what they’re being told,” said Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee. “Well, the people of West Virginia didn’t believe that and they sent a very strong message.”

Campaign aides were particularly livid at Russert’s election night declaration on MSNBC that, “We now know who the Democratic nominee is going to be, and no one is going to dispute it” – even before the network called Indiana for Clinton.

The ad – and the anti-media message – may be an effort to shore up female support, asserted Hibbitts.

“It’s a resentment ploy, basically,” he said. “That all the big boys are trying to push Hillary out of the race, that she’s been treated unfairly by the Russerts and the Stephanopouloses.”

I agree that the media has showed bias against her.

True but she would NOT be Senator, nor Bill President for two terms if not for the media toadies when they were riding the Clinton train. The entire Clinton empire came to being by the very media who are now bringing it down. They pwn her.

Showed bias against her?

You are living in a fantasy land.

Were was the coverage of the Peter-Paul case? - bias for clinton!

Where was the coverage on Hsu? - bias for clinton !

Where was the coverage on the other campaign fundraiser that was jailed on felony charges this year? - bias for clinton !

Where was the coverage on the two fundraisers who had to cancel in December because they both got indicted? - bias for clinton !

There most certainly has not been a bias against clinton and towards obama.

The corrupt clinton would be toast if they actually bothered to cover her.

I think they know what type of a power hungry unsrupulous person she is, and even though they would prefer her to any Republican, Obama provides an alternative.

Go, Hillary!

This primary race MUST go to the convention floor. That sick scumbag B. Hussein Obama is totally unelectable and besides, to throw in the towel now would be a slap in the face and a supreme disappointment to all those who have donated to and supported your candidacy.

Also, the Larry Sinclair story is slowly gaining momentum and it’s only a matter of time before more of Obama’s gay lovers and cocaine buddies come out of the woodwork with their stories. THEN what will the Democrats do?

It ain’t over ‘til it’s over. You go, girl!

You expect that type of craven behavior from Olbermann. He’s about as despicable as they come. But Matthews? He should know better. It’s as if he and Olbermann are contesting the right to perform Obama’s ablutions. These liberal types are at their most fawning and obsequious when in the presence of a candidate that allows them to absolve themselves from a lifetime of liberal guilt. Obama is a virtual nobody and a child of privilege. No matter. These gutless liberals will fall on their knees to serve such an utter fraud. It was the same at Harvard. He was appointed Editor of the Harvard Law Review because a bunch of guilt laden whites thought it “neat.” They are so afraid of being called racists that they’ll bow down and kiss Obama’s ass in broad daylight. I’ve got a new name for this variant of homo politicus: sub genus DMD - Dingbaticus Moronicus Dipshiticus.

Anyone, no matter how deceitful and evil who is against PMSNBC, Dobermanfuer and Crissy Matthews, gets the “I have more Cajoles than you RINO”S award” from my side of the little padded cell.

Surfing through the channels last night I watched about 9 minutes and 27 seconds of Dobermanfuer and every story was nothing but dripping syrupy sarcasm of Bush and John McCain.

After a few minutes of Dobermanfuer I too felt somewhat like calling 911 and having the little men in white coats come out and give me in my agitated state a ride to the liberal asylum.

“Liberalism Is A Mental Disorder”..........their coming to take me away he he, haw haw, ho ho..........

Oh, it's no surprise considering the fresh-faced socialist candidate they are now swooning over - - you know, that light-skinned black candidate who is "articulate and clean" (Joe Biden), B. Hussein Obama. What more could the Democrat newsrooms possibly ask for? Hillary is so yesterday...

I just saw a Kohler faucet ad, an ad that exhibits the latest in faucet technology.

In the ad, an old woman lies on her death bed, reaching, striving, wanting the magnificent faucet.

But she never reaches the lovely device.

The old woman gasps her last breath, the Kohler faucet just out of reach.

I hope Hillary Clinton experiences such a political death.

"You’re right, she has nothing to lose, and even though I dislike Hillary, I agree that the media has showed bias against her. Barack is the new kid on the block, he’s the democrat's new guy to idolize."

I and many on this board have waited YEARS to see the clintons fail. I'm good with what's happening. Obama doesn't stand a chance against mclaim, but then is not so good either.

Our Republic is looking at its final demise no matter what the outcome. I'm just glad to see the self-serving corrupt smarmy clintons get buried. If Obama gets in the WH, then the revolution will happen early. If mcAmnesty gets in, it will happen later, if it happens at all.

Either way, as Jefferson said, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.", and as I belive if not, we will die as another failed democracy. There has never been any more realistic words spoken as the above.

That said, the reality is that our Founding Fathers never meant for our Nation to BE a democracy. They specifically created our Nation as a Constitutionally based Republic. They knew of the failings of a "democracy". They argued and debated ancient Greecian and Roman ideas of what a democracy is, and wisely decided that was a failed ideology.

As Alexander Tytler said...
" A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that time on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the results that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship."

We long ago voted FOR the largess of our treasury and continue to do so. It started decades back and peaked with FDR and LBJ and their socialist programs.

Our great Constitutional Republic experiment is over. The perversion of our Constitutional basics, the corruption of our political system, and the greed of the public is complete and continues to minimize the FF's ideals.

So what now, if anything? Personally, I await Jefferson's foreboding and prophetic writings. I don't want it, but I am prepared for it.

So go cast your vote for mccain or obama or ron paul or bob barr or just write in your own buddy. Voting no longer has ANY impact on the political machine. It's rigged! Our Republic is dying and there is no turning back without a HUGE upheaval against the politicians.

Disclaimer: I do not advocate insurrection toward these United States. I DO advocate turning your back on the political machine. Vote your conscience. Make a statement.

I agree. Shes not losing bad enough to quit. Shes not that far behind BO and the superdelegates can vote however they choose. They could all go for Hillary. The media doesn’t know who they will vote for. They are afraid of her. You can hear the desperation in their voices when they ask why she is not getting out.

Good for Hillary. Democrats have more fight from what I see. Remember when the democrats refused to allow Fox to do a debate? Our spineless Republicans would never think to bash the press. They prefer to kiss their arse, get treated like a rented red headed step child in debates on MSNBC and CNN. If one were to complain, they would immediately apologize because that is what Republicans do - apologize.

Hillary's having a, " On The Waterfront" moment.

Terry Malloy: It wasn't him, Charley, it was you. Remember that night in the Garden you came down to my dressing room and you said, "Kid, this ain't your night. We're going for the price on Wilson." You remember that? "This ain't your night"! My night! I coulda taken Wilson apart! So what happens? He gets the title shot outdoors in the ballpark and what do I get? A one-way ticket to Palooka-ville! You was my brother, Charley, you shoulda looked out for me a little bit. You shoulda taken care of me just a little bit so I wouldn't have to take them dives for the short-end money.

Hillary, on her way to Palookaville!

Where was the in depth scrutiny of Hillary's work in the senate? Hillary never got the rectal exam Republicans have been given in the past and will in the upcoming general election.
