I think he has big ears. But he is tall and thin, and has all his hair. For some women that’s enough. (You know, like many men will go for big boobs and long blond hair, and not even notice that under the make-up she looks like a fish.)

There is a large contingent of the American public whose capacity for critical judgment goes about as far as Simon's opinion about this week's contestants. The hired thugs of the NEA have done their work well the last thirty-forty years and turned the education system into a kennel for raising lap dogs and worker bees. The motto of "Change we can trust" in reality boils down to: "We Rule, you drool."

You may have a point racial guilt. It is a good angle because he is as stupid as a post when not reading from the prompter.
I just do not get it either. Even when he is reading what someone else wrote for him, I think he sounds like an idiot.
