Chuck Hagel as Barack Obama’s running mate? Obama could “make this gauzy idea of consensus politics concrete” by choosing Nebraska’s Republican senator or independent New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to fill his vice presidential slot, David Ignatius wrote in the Washington Post last week.“Hagel would be an especially interesting choice for Obama,” he wrote. “As a decorated Vietnam veteran, he would add some national security heft to the ticket.”In addition, Hagel was “an early and courageous GOP critic of the Iraq war,” Ignatius wrote.

“At the same time, although Hagel agrees with Obama on the need for withdrawal from Iraq, his military credentials would reassure U.S. allies that it would not be a pell-mell retreat.”

Hagel is about as lousy as you can get, but even he isn’t going to play second fiddle to BHO. He loves being in the spotlight too much.

Wow, Chuck Hagel as Barak Hussien's VP, jeez, I'll sure to vote for him now!! *

* if the only choices were Barack, the Communist Party or the Worker's Party.

In other words, Hagel won't do much to get CONSERVATIVES voting for Barack Hussein!!

Why should Hagel do that when there is a perfectly good RINO running on his party’s ticket?

Unless it’s just about power.

If Obama is looking for a looking for a way to get disgruntled conservatives off the couch to go vote for McCain, putting Hagel on his own ticket would be the way to do it. Imagine it - we could say “I didn’t vote for that scum-bag RINO idiot. I voted against the other scum-bag, RINO idiot”.

Hagel’s value as a Sunday Morning quarterback would definitely go down when he became Obama’s anti-Cheney
