Two Die In Shooting Outside Sunnyvale Strip Club
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Two men died in a hail of fire in a late Sunday night shooting in the parking lot of a Sunnyvale strip club.
Sunnyvale Police Capt. Doug Maretto said his agency received a 911 call reporting a shooting outside the Brass Rail strip club at 160 Persian Drive.
Arriving officers discovered the two men lying on the ground near a red Range Rover parked outside the club.
Neighbors told KTVU they heard a series of shots of 2-3 shots followed shortly after by two more.
"He seemed to know the people," said a neighbor who looked out his window shortly after the shooting and saw a man standing over the victims. "He was saying 'I can't believe this happened. I can't believe this happened. Who did this?' You could hear him clear across the street."
Police has witnessed dozen of people who were in the area at the time of the shooting.
Moretto said no one had been arrested in the shooting and no suspect description had been released.

You live next to a strip club? How’s the food?
A shooting at a strip club. Imagine
Shouldn’t have the fish.
wonder which NFL/NBA player is involved
Professional job. One close range to the head of each victim to seal the deal.
Prayers up for them.
Are their some cops to arrest? I'm sure these guys weren't involved in a shoving match, a bad drug deal, or a gang. Must have been white policemen responsible.
Checking on Pac-Man Jones whereabouts...
Persian?
Agreed. May God bless their (likely) unprepared souls. Not a good way, not a good place to die.
Has you children been witnessed by police ?
Hey... the Brass Rail. I’ve heard it’s the oldest continually operating strip joint on the west coast. Or something like that. Maybe dates back to the Gold Rush. Can somebody calibrate me on that? Or is it just local legend?
I’ve been there, maybe 13 years ago. Was on a business trip and a few of my local colleagues took us all out there. It was fairly upscale, as I recall, if a strip joint can be said to be at all.
I actually live on Bradford, and I could see the car where the 2 guys died from the middle of our street. The bar is at the end of Bradford, I gather the physical address is on Persian.
I hope this doesn’t mean the lolcat crowd will be hijacking this thread...
I had not heard that. Some locals have tried to have the bar simply moved to a nearby commercial district where it would seem to be more suitable, but they just get copout answers from the local politicians.
For the Silicon Valley ping list.
Whenever I lived in Sunnyvale, only went to that one in the strip mall on El Camino Real, which was just pasty’s and g strings, and that other juice bar one that was fully nude can’t remember the name of that one. But it wasn’t the one that this shooting was at, never even heard of that one.
They were amusing places... this was at the height of the tech boom, just before the bubble burst, and there were just tons of bored young single tech workers in there. Given that sunnyvale was a bedroom community mostly married couples, and this is where a lot of em lived or worked so idea of finding a single gal was slim to none unless you headed up to the city.
A lot of the guys I worked with, would end up moving up to the city and deal with the daily commute back to sunnyvale to work, just so they wouldn’t be so bored out of their minds.
2 in the Hat!
And does the beer come with a hair net on it?
FMCDH(BITS)
How long have you been living on the street?
Seriously, Glad your family is safe.
About time to move?
Dude, It sure looked like it. I was shocked and actually went home with money in my pocket that night. They were GNARLY! I may have to do some more research next week...
First they had all that crap with the Hell's Angels and the Poodle; now this.
The South Bay is getting worse than Vegas or L.A..

Although the south bay is getting more violent, I believe that this was an isolated incident. I feel badly for all those that live in the area, or any area when ever a crime occurs.
I appreciate the prayers and concern for the victims, as I have found out that I know one of them. No one wants to go this way and these kind of things are hard to understand sometimes.
Thank you for keeping this a respectable thread.
My other half was visting her son on Fulton Avenue and she heard the shots and thought that they were firecrackers at first.

Sunnyvale investigators have identified Matthew Andrew O’Reilly, 29, of San Mateo, as the person
A day after two men were shot dead in the parking lot of the Brass Rail in Sunnyvale, investigators with the Department of Public Safety identified the man they suspect is responsible for the killings.
Police identified the victims as Jason William Gamino, 29, of San Mateo and Benjamin Osegura, 31, of Menlo Park - acquaintances who were gunned down while sitting in a 2006 Range Rover parked in front of the South Bay strip club.
Police said the suspect, Matthew Andrew O’Reilly, was last seen driving a silver 2006 Nissan Altima with the California license plate of 5UFY655. Police did not disclose why they believe O’Reilly is the suspect, but earlier in the evening they were studying hours of security tapes described as “useful”
Where it happened
from both inside and out of the bar.
Monday, some of the bikini-clad dancers at the bar were reportedly too traumatized to show up for their shifts.
“I’ve tried to calm them down,” said George Kakoliris, the day manager of the exotic dancing establishment known for its prime rib special and performers such as Asia and Sapphire. “I’m so depressed. But we are safe now and we have to deal with this tragedy.”
This was no random shooting, according to Doug Moretto, a captain with the Department of Public Safety.
“Investigators are spending a lot of time connecting the dots,” Moretto said. “What we believe is that this is not a random act of violence.”
But Moretto was mostly tight-lipped about suspects, victims and
what may have sparked the carnage under the cocktail sign - a rare multiple-homicide in a city that only has a few slayings a year.
There were about 40 people inside and outside the club at the time of the shooting about 9:35 p.m. Sunday, and those clubgoers and employees provided police with a lot of information, Moretto said.
The shooting victims came into the club around 8 p.m, according to the Brass Rail’s longtime owner, George Frangadakis. Sometime about 9:30 p.m., the group of three men left the club, located near Highway 101 and Mathilda Avenue.
Moments later, one of the men came running back inside, screaming about a shooting.
The Brass Rail’s night manager ran outside and saw one of the club’s customers down in the parking lot, according to Frangadakis, who was not at the club when the shooting happened.
“He turned him over and watched him die,” said Frangadakis, 90, who has operated the club since 1960. “He’s freaked out. I’m freaked out. It’s the first time this has happened and I’m taking it very personally.”
What triggered the shooting remains a mystery to Frangadakis and his staff.
Before the shooting, it was an otherwise slow night at the Brass Rail, Frangadakis said. There were four bouncers working that night - and there wasn’t a skirmish or fight to indicate a more deadly encounter was about to happen in the parking lot, he said.
“I’ve got good security. I had my best guy on the door,” Frangadakis said. “Why it happened, I don’t know.”
Frangadakis said the club’s security system includes 34 cameras that patrol the strip club and parking lot. However, the shooting happened outside the camera’s range, he said.
“I’m going to add more cameras to prevent this from happening again,” Frangadakis said. “I’m so upset. I’m taking this personally. I don’t want it to happen again.”
O’Reilly is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information on this crime can contact detective Jose Ramirez at (408) 730-7120 or 408-730-7110.

SUNNYVALE
Suspect identified in killings at club

Police identified a suspect on Monday night in the fatal shooting of two men outside an erotic dance club in Sunnyvale.
The shooting occurred at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot outside the Brass Rail adult club at 160 Persian Drive. Police identified the two victims as Benjamin Osegura, 31, of Menlo Park, and Jason William Gamino, a 29-year-old San Mateo resident. The victims, who police said were acquaintances, had been in the club and were sitting in a 2006 Range Rover parked outside when they were shot and killed.
Police said they were probably not the victims of random violence.
Police have identified Matthew Andrew O’Reilly, a 29-year-old San Mateo resident, as the suspect in the shooting, Sunnyvale police Capt. Doug Moretto said Monday night. O’Reilly was last seen driving a silver Nissan Altima with California license plate 5UFY655, police said. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Police ask that anyone seeing the suspect or vehicle call 911 or contact the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at (408) 730-7110.
Police said there were about 40 people in and around the bikini club, which bills itself on its Web site as “the largest men’s club in Silicon Valley.”
The Brass Rail’s owner, George Frangadakis, knew one of the victims, who was a longtime patron, Clayton said.
“He’s very upset and very emotional right now because he feels quite bad for the family and everyone,” said David Clayton, a spokesman for Frangadakis. “He’s been there since 1960. He’s never had this type of incident.”

What the f-ck is wrong with track pants?
Well, my curiousity got the better of me and I checked their site. The place has been open since 1960 or so, not the gold rush. So I guess the guys that took me there were just spouting some local lore.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find a place downtown SF that’s that old, though. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The man police were searching for in connection with the double homicide that occurred outside a Sunnyvale strip club last Sunday has died after crashing his vehicle during a high-speed chase that led to the closure of Interstate Highway 380 in San Bruno.
***Police has witnessed dozen of people who were in the area at the time of the shooting.***
Wow

Revolver
Glad to hear your children are alright.
Presure in their respective guns built up at the strip club and fired in the parking lot?
I wish people wouldn’t add the “armedcitizen” keyword to a story that has no relevance to armed citizenry as it is known on Free Republic...
I used to work at this club. I read in one report that there were FOUR bouncers working there on a Sunday night. That is such bullshit. On a Sunday we had a doorman and that was it. On a packed Friday night there would be one doorman and one useless bouncer oggling the girls and kissing the patrons asses. I QUIT working at this club due to lack of security and the fact that they patronize to complete dirtbags and gangbangers. I am not at all surprised that this crime took place at the Brass Rail, I saw it coming, and that is why I quit working there. I hope they shut that @#$ down.
