The Catholic Left is hanging itself right before our eyes. Having never come to grips with the Church's teachings on sexuality, they are now tightening the noose on themselves in public.
It is not a pretty sight.
This month alone they have embroiled themselves in a debate with three separate archbishops, with no end in sight....
At bottom, it is not the Catholic Left's quarrel with three archbishops that is doing them in; it is their total failure to convince Catholics (as well as non-Catholics) that it is okay to vote for NARAL-approved candidates for public office and then claim with a straight face that this adequately represents the Catholic position.
Everyone knows this is bunk.

The “Catholic Left” (to use this label) is based on power....not on AUTHENTIC spirituality or orthodoxy.
When Ted Kennedy is buried, it will be with full honors in the Catholic Church. Ergo for Nancy Pelosi et al. That’s why there is no respect for RCC’s empty pronouncements about pro-abortion Catholics.

What do you call a Catholic who believes in abortion?
An Episcopalian.
There was once such a thing: Catholics who were orthodox believers in the Church's doctrinal and moral teaching, and who were also very supportive of organized labor, social welfare programs and racial integration.
The problem for the Catholic left is that the secular left has now fully embraced divorce, fornication, bastardy, sodomy, contraception, abortion, infanticide and euthanasia as noble and essential causes. One cannot belong to the contemporary left without at least passively supporting this agenda.
It was possible for an authentically Catholic left to exist as recently as 1960.
It is not possible now. The nonnegotiable essentials of Catholic moral teaching are now considered ultra-right wing by both the secular left and the secular right.
Oh! I forgot the NARAL is the same type organization as the NAMBLA.
An atheist..........
“What do you call a Catholic who believes in abortion?

Not necessarily. There are many GOOD Episcopalians who have not succumbed to relativist philosophy....and who understand that abortion is a horrendous evil.
Leviticus 20 (New International Version)
1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any alien living in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the community are to stone him. 3 I will set my face against that man and I will cut him off from his people; for by giving his children to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name. 4 If the people of the community close their eyes when that man gives one of his children to Molech and they fail to put him to death, 5 I will set my face against that man and his family and will cut off from their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molech.

I’m not a Catholic but I’d like to help these people.
That's quite an assumption you're making. If you turn out to be wrong will you admit it?
With Hagee in the news I wish Bill Donahue and the Catholic Leauge would get vocal about about demanding he and his anti-Catholic televison shows be taken off the air. For those who don’t know he calls the Church a cult and has his own shows on religous cable channels seen over a wide part of the country. I can’t believe McCain accepted his endorsement in the first place if he wanted ANY Catholic voters.
Joined today, I see.
So who’s gonna rewrite the Bible?
If you are a Christian, then you must adhere to the principles of the Bible.
Everyone should join a religion they agree with not join a religion and change it to what they believe.
That's quite an assumption you're making. If you turn out to be wrong will you admit it?
And if it turns out to be true, what will you do? Will you come back here and admit you were wrong and that kittymyrib is right?
If you knew the state of the "Catholic" hierarchy in Massachusetts, you'd know that kittymyrib has made a very valid and very probable point.
Catholics cannot vote for Obama because he is pro-abortion, in fact the most liberal pro-abortion senator in the current senate.
Catholics MUST vote for McCain.
