Are You Kidding Me?

Are You Kidding Me?

May 22, 2008

Talk about pots and kettles!

Can you imagine receiving a solicitation letter from RNC (Republican National Committee) treasurer Tim Morgan asking if you’ve “deserted our Party”?

Who should be asking whom about desertion?

The very first sentence of the letter says it all, “I don’t want to believe you’ve abandoned the Republican Party, but I have to ask...Have you given up?”.

Well...yes and no.

Have I given up on the current Republican leadership and its goals (euphemism)?  Yes.

Have I given up on my Conservative values (what the Republican Party was supposed to stand for)?  Never.

The answer to the question about “giving up” is obvious when you take a look at the Republican Principles as posted on the GOP website.

Do “I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility?”  Yes.

But do the Republicans from the White House through the Congress believe it when you look at national spending that ballooned to record levels during the “Republican Years”...even after you exclude Homeland Security expenditures?

From the decidedly Conservative Heritage Foundation, we get a glimpse of what has been going on under Republican rule, “From 2001 through 2003, the federal budget expanded by $296 billion...defense spending accounted for $100 billion of that amount, and other 9/11-induced spending on homeland security, international aid, and domestic rebuilding totaled $32 billion...That leaves $164 billion in new spending completely unrelated to defense and the 9/11 attacks.”  Fifty-five percent of new spending from 2001-2003 went to “Unemployment benefit payments”, “Education”, “General government costs” and “Air transportation bailouts”.

Republicans gave us “guns and butter” during a very costly and protracted war.

From 2001 through 2007, federal spending (in inflation adjusted dollars) expanded from $1.8 trillion to $2.8 trillion.

From 2001 through 2007, US public debt skyrocketed from $5.8 trillion to over $9 trillion.

It appears that “our friends” in Washington DC Billed the taxpayer for a party that the taxpayer wasn’t invited to.

Again, we find the stated Republican Principles telling us that, “...the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.”

If Republican leadership really believed in these words, then where did the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (which immediately increased spending by almost $100 billion and continued to cost $100’s of billions) come from?

Where did the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (with cost estimated by the Medicare trustees of $18.2 trillion) come from?

And speaking of paying for parties you never get invited to...pork barrel spending increased from $18.5 billion for 6,333 projects in 2001 to $29 billion for 9,963 projects in 2006 (the last year Republicans controlled Congress).  Starting with the takeover of Congress by the Democrats in 2006, pork spending immediately declined by almost 55%.

That’s an embarrassment and an insult to all Conservatives.

So, Mr. Morgan, when you write that my past support “helped to advance our vision for America”...that’s not exactly the vision I had.

And, Mr. Morgan, shame on you for trying to frighten me into making a donation by fear mongering that “The Democrats are determined to...push our country to the left with their agenda of high taxes, big government and weakened national security.”

That is exactly where the Republicans have taken us starting with breaking every promise in the “Contract With America” up to, and including, the bailout of the subprime mortgage fiasco.

Every year at CPAC a legion of Party-hack Republicans duplicitously dress themselves as elephants only to act like jackasses.  They patronize the Conservative base and then turn their backs on Conservative values.

When John McCain finally left Teddy Kennedy’s side long enough to attend CPAC 2008...he came looking for Conservative-base support and conveniently omitted his beliefs that pouring water on a terrorists face is “torture” and that he never saw an immigration amnesty bill (McCain-Kennedy Immigration Reform Bill et al) that he didn’t support.  As recently as last week McCain still hoped that he could snow the “American people” into accept(ing) the practical necessity to institute a temporary worker program and deal humanely with the millions of immigrants who have been in this country illegally.”  The same old amnesty solution.

This is the man who will secure our borders and bring some teeth back to the rule of law?

This is the man who, according to Tim Morgan, will calm my fears over what the “liberals” will do to America if elected?

Well Mr. Morgan...when you implore in your letter to “Please don’t turn your back on our Republican candidates” I have to fondly paraphrase Ronald Reagan, “I did not turn my back you...you turned your back on me.”

And no...I am not abandoning support of Conservative principles or Conservative candidates.  I will be supporting the Conservative Congressional candidates and many other Conservative causes.

I will not be supporting “Republicans In Name Only” who, in the words of Peggy Noonan, “came to make a difference and wound up with their butts in the butter.”

And again to paraphrase Noonan, “you speak that language because you are a marketer, not a thinker. Not serious about policy. Not serious about ideas. And not serious about leadership, only followership.”  And that is a brand of Republicanism that smells too much like a jackass for my taste.

Whenever I get letters from the RNC or State or local GOP, I don’t even open them; just tear them up and throw them away. I did not leave the Party; it left me. However, I might vote for John McCain if he chooses Mitt Romney for VP.

THEY deserted ME.

THEY have made conservatism a “dirty word”.

When I get their letter begging solicitations, I SHREAD them. Let McPain’s well to do WIFE finance him. He's a clueless liberal.

WHEN we donate it is to INDIVIDUAL CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS. The RNC needs to change its ways before they see a cent from us to go into the general pool.

“I might vote for John McCain if he chooses Mitt Romney for VP.”

Same here. I voted for Mitt in the primary.

IF he has Mitt as his VP then I WILL vote for the liberal, McPain. Otherwise, TOUGH LOVE is called for. This downward slide of the GOP has to STOP or I leave them and go third party.

When I recieved the same letter. It made me think about how did I desert the party? Then I thought about Senator MCcain and everything I care about as he blames me for being naive. I just don’t know how he became our torch, but until they grow some kuhonies, I am also Republican in name only!

My plan exactly. We have to protect the real Conservatives in office so that when it hits the fan this fall, they will be the natural choice to rebuild the Party...along with us!

Trail of Tall Tales: John McCain
by FOXNews.com
Thursday, May 22, 2008

2. Economics Expertise, Jan. 27, 2008
Non-truth: When confronted with his own remarks about his economic prowess during a Republican primary debate, McCain said, “I don’t know where you got that quote from. I’m very well versed in economics.” In a later interview on NBC, McCain added that he’s “very strong on the economy.”

Truth: McCain was asked about a quote he gave The Wall Street Journal in a November 2005 interview in which he admitted he lacked expertise on economic issues. The quote read: “I’m going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. … I still need to be educated.”

McCain told reporters in December 2007, “The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should.”

Sources: “‘Reform. Reform. Reform.’ John McCain Explains His Eclectic–and Troubling–Economic Philosophy,” Wall Street Journal, Nov. 26, 2005; NBC GOP presidential debate exchange, Jan. 24, 2008; “Meet the Press,” NBC, Jan. 27, 2008.

He's an imbecile when it comes to economics as well as an over all liar.

I have received two solicitation letters from the RNC in the past two weeks. I return the cards in the postage paid envelope, with a note:

“Stop nominating Democrats such as McCain and I will donate again!”

Hopefully they will get the message.

Watch how the touchy feely RHINO’s try to IGNORE this posting. It is THOSE people, that fuel the decline of the GOP through ALWAYS going along with the latest “reaching across the aisle” and the “big tent”. This “philosophy is precisely what has defined the GOP DOWN.

I keep wondering, will McPain EVER reach across the aisle to me? He is in bed WITH the Demoncrat.

Exactly!

We work too hard to throw money at another Democrat pretending to be a conservative Republican. McPain’s “global warming” tax proposals make me physically ill. I'd rather flush the money down the toilet than give it to him - it would be better spent that way than on McPain.

For a long time I would open the “Surveys” that seemingly were arriving daily in the mail. I guess I expected them to change, but they never did. Always the prewritten questions for the little people to checkmark with the greatest of ease, and always the “Send me ALL your money” with more check boxes towards the end of the document.

I never filled out the “Surveys”. Why bother when I could look at the charade they represent? I thought “Yeah, waste my time filling out these things, or writing in my own opinions and what’s going to happen when I send it in?” “Some grunt will be sitting there receiving the mail with a letter opener in one hand, a trash can at their feet discarding the surveys/letters unread, and putting the checks into a basket marked for deposit.”

They don’t want your opinion. They don’t want my opinion. They only want our money to perpetuate their Political agenda while they throw BS at us.

I still say “Pull the Chain” this November, and “Pull the Chain” again and again each election thereafter until the D.C. Bowl is thoroughly cleared of the Professional Political Lifers that are destroying this Nation for their own personal agendas and pleasures.

Here is the current politicial problem in a nutshell:

This morning on Fox&Friends, the news breaks that Michael Bloomberg is on the McCain VP short list.

This morning on Fox&Friends, the news breaks that Michael Bloomberg is on the Obama VP short list.

So,

It becomes more and more obvious that the GOP and Democratics are just wings of the same political operation.

Funny how conservatives became the RINOs. We are all just as conservative as we were 20 or 30 years ago, but the party has definitely shifted to the left.

The GOP won't get my money (and not my votes for certain candidates) until they figure out that conservatives shouldn't be taken for granted.

I look at Bush and now McCain and I look at Clinton and now Obama, and both sides seem headed towards socialism, with the only difference being the speed we are headed that way.

Yes, sitting ACROSS the aisle from conservatives isn't enough. He's losing sleep that, THAT is not enough to attract the LEFT.

Well, have the LEFT FINANCE YOUR CAMPAIGN too, since YOU, McPain in the arse lefty, don't represent me. Or be like Kerry, have your WIFE finance your campaign with HER money. Be a gigolo.

Yes, yes, I know you lie about your ties to Kerry:

Trail of Tall Tales: John McCain
by FOXNews.com
Thursday, May 22, 2008

5. Conversation with Kerry, May 15, 2004
During the 2004 presidential campaign, speculation was widespread that Sen. John Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee, had asked McCain to join him as his running mate in the general election.

Non-truth: McCain told The New York Times that Kerry made no such offer, and when asked whether the two had ever discussed the possibility, even casually, McCain said, after pausing, “No. We really haven’t.”

Truth: McCain was asked again in 2008 about his reported conversation with Kerry, and told The New York Times, “I mean it’s well known. Everybody knows, it’s been well chronicled a thousand times that John Kerry asked if I would consider being his running mate.”

Sources: “Undeterred by McCain Denials, Some See Him as Kerry’s No. 2,” New York Times, May 15, 2004; “McCain Asked About 2004 Conversation with Kerry,” New York Times, March 7, 2008.

The republicons are about four years behind the democraps. BOTH are socialist outfits that are ruining the country! Horge Bush's refusal to defend the borders (think Ramos/Compean), the senators and congress pukers discovered last election cycle, that, those who appeared to have any conservative values (be they from either party) easily won their districts. Perhaps a quarter of the republicans are conservative, the rest are just a herd of damn RINO's.

The only person I sent money to this election cycle was Duncan Hunter! A man who actually walks the walk! For all the clowns who are thinking that this is wishful thinking, as you give away your liberty's, to a government hellbent on controlling you from the cradle to the grave, remember to bow to the clown that "is in charge of America".

May God protect our country, I fear the coming four years. 300,000,000 million people and this is the best our nation has to lead? Folks, it don't look good for America.

And the question was have I abandoned the party? No the party has failed me miserably as of late....

The sad part is that this is only the short list.

I get so mad when politicians make a pact with their supporters and then just walk away after they have sucked everything they could out of you.

And then at reelection time they come back with a straight face and babble some nonsense about what "our team" has done and we "need" to continue or the bad guys will win...so give me all of your money again.

Is it so hard to refrain from: (1) dipping into the till; (2) having an affair or (3) becoming intoxicated by power for a few years for the sake of your country?

How many pinheads get to Washington on a list of promises (i.e. Contract With America) and then, when they discover that power will get you a few tramps, can't keep their heads out of their pants...even for the sake of God, Country and the opportunity to make history!

I got a feeling republicans are going to learn a VERY HARD lesson this election

Like they did with Perot in ‘92

Despite what you think of Perot it was him and Rush Limbaugh and Gingrich’s cotract with amercia that brought about the biggest conservative takeover in congress in 40 years... and they BLEW IT

They let the press walk all over Gingrich for a trivial mistake a low level staffer made and it went downhill from there.

The good thing it that the lame-stream press no longer has that kind of power.
