Congresswoman threatens to nationalize oil industry (Maxine Waters)

In a grilling of oil executives by a House panel yesterday, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., threatened to nationalize the industry if it didn't do something about the rising prices at the pump.

A report by Fox News, captured in a clip posted on YouTube.com, showed Waters challenging the president of Shell Oil, John Hofmeister, to guarantee the prices consumers pay will go down if the oil companies are allowed to drill wherever they want off of U.S. shores.

I disagree with everyone on this thread who thinks she is stupid for "thinking" the way she does AND who implies a belief that she represents a small minority. The Dem governor of my state obviously believes exactly what Waters has said, but is intelligent enough to stop just short of publicly saying it.

I'm surprised Rush treated this so lightly. Based on the acceptance of socialist solutions that I see, I think Rush may be underestimating the number of people in this country who would agree with Waters. Many in the country are very prone to accepting the lable of "victim" right now, and buying into the promise of socialist solutions. Just wait until Obama hits the campaign trail and uses the same "you are a victim" approach on whites that has been so appealing to a majority of blacks.

I think this is the DNC platform. Hillary said in a speech a couple of years ago that she WILL TAKE THE PROFITS OF THE OIL COMPANIES and she will put them into developing alternative fuel. Although she lacks the knowledge to do that!
