Nader Calls for Bush-Cheney Impeachment

May 23, 2008 1:48 PM

ABC News' Yunji de Nies reports: Independent presidential hopeful Ralph Nader spoke outside the White House Friday, calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

Nader said the President has, "dishonored the White House and brought a pattern of waste."

"A wasteful defense is a weak defense and a weak defense, inspires waste," Nader said.

Surrounded by a handful of supporters, holding signs which read "From Katrina to Iraq, Colossal Failure," and "Resign Bush-Cheney, Like Nixon-Agnew," Nader charged that the President and Vice President are currently committing five impeachable offenses, on a daily basis, including: criminal use of offense against Iraq; condoned and approved systematic torture; arresting thousands of Americans -- denying them habeas corpus and violating attorney/client privilege; signing 800 signing statements, precluding the president from actually having to follow the laws he signs; and systematic spying on Americans without judicial approval.

Despite all that’s wrong with this, I must add.....excellent timing. Lets spend the next year on impeaching a president who’s leaving office.

I like it when they ignore Abe's advice -

This is actually good. The more hardcore Nader appears, the more votes he drains from Obama.

I guess Nader's peeved that the other attention whore (Barr) might be stealing some of his spotlight...

This was my first thought. Nader is definitely going to draw off some of the loony-left votes from Obama, especially if Clinton is on the ticket as VP. The question is, how many.

“A wasteful defense is a weak defense and a weak defense, inspires waste, MAN I’m WASTED. “ Nader said.

In his younger years, Ralph worked as a clerk for Daniel Patrick Moynihan at the Department of Labor and often seemed to exhibit a paranoid streak. In one of his books, Moynihan wrote that Nader whispered to him that he thought his phones were tapped. Moynihan reminded Nader there was nothing of national security import at Labor and not to worry about it...

Exactly my thoughts. This is fine with me. All this does is take votes away from whoever the Dems decide to nominate.

That would make for a great democrat fight. SanFran Nan would become the first woman president. Presumably, as incumbent, she would want to stay. That would pit democrat women looking to have her continue, against the black voter block. What a crushing defeat. It might be the best thing if both Bush and Cheney were to resign after the dem convention so as to create this fantastic scenario.

Seriously, he was in Portland about a week ago and even according to a moonbat follower who blogged about it, he ranted incoherently, randomly, pounded his fists in a temper tantrum and of the 50 or so there, people started walking out.

What will these folks do after 1/20/09, When Bush is gone?? They've wasted 8 years of their life dreaming up “crimes” and their sum total affect on politics is providing fodder for humor and jokes. One would of thought they'd been embarrassed enough by like 2004 & 2005 to STFU. I guess they take themselves and think we take them, way more seriously then I imagined.

So I guess they'll try to get Bush extradited to Hague or try to use some obscure Euro-wuss tribunal to indict Bush on their “dream” crimes.

I have to admit I'm gonna miss the BDSers. I've grown kind of fond of the moonbats in strange way over the past 8 years. They're almost like pets. Deep down I kinda hope they do continue their moonbattery...They are an entertaining bunch of kooks.

Yes. This how they got Chile’s Pinochet. However, closer top home, I think there’s warrant for w’s arrest in Brattleboro , Vt.

I had a pretty advanced case of Clinton Haters Syndrome. I hated how he got away with everything. It eventually went away. BDS, however, is not rational so it might just become MDS if McCainiac wins.

Years ago, and that’s many years ago—I thought Nader was good when he was a consumer advocate. Now he’s just a loon.

Hey Ralphie! We know you don’t like Bush and Cheney. But priorities are priorities. Now is the time to concentrate on getting your name on as many of those butterfly ballots as possible. Then you can crash the debates and rant away to your heart’s content this October! I’m sure you’ll pull some votes. We all know how dyslexia is prevalent among liberals. And what with those confusing Diebold machines ...
