Tonight‘s runner-up, General David Petraeus. It turns out his role as a press flack for President Bush began long before his embarrassing testimony to Congress last September. Pentagon documents say that hoping to soften up the military panelists scheduled for “Meet The Press” on August 28, 2005, Pentagon spokesman Larry DiRita had a deputy assistant secretary of defense contact Petraeus in Iraq and ask him to start shilling. Petraeus promptly got on the phone to each of the military analysts and gave them supposedly insider accounts of how well things were going in Iraq.
Olbermann is referring to this post on the blog Think Progress, which is following up on the New York Times piece on Pentagon analysts that the far left is going batty over because story isn't making more of a splash. Oddly enough, Olbermann is implicating NBC's own expert, General Barry McCaffrey, with this. Brian Williams offered his take on all of this a few weeks ago...
Maybe someone should ask Senator Obama if he thinks smearing General Petraeus as a press flack is an appropriate description of the general's service.

I’m pretty sure Olbermann squats when he pees. Its just a matter of time before someone catches him ramming a goat or fondling a little boy.
People like him will pay, it’s just a matter of time. Give your son a Semper Fi from me and thank him also. Right now I think our military and few others are doing this whole world a favor, the world just doesn’t know it yet. When I was in Boot Camp, my DI would say “pain is weakness leaving the body” kinda stuck with me all these years.
It looks to me like General Electric, who owns msnbc, would be truly and totally embarrassed but apparently they are not. I use to own GE, not any more.
Olberman is NOT a norman human...there is obviously something missing...no person can say (and appear to believe) some of the most air headed things that this guy claims to.
Anyone that would say what this guy did has little respect for themselves.
And by his own admission. This from his Wikipedia entry:
“Between 1997 and 2007 incidents between the two sides included Olbermann publishing an essay on Salon.com in November of 2002 entitled “Mea Culpa” in which he conceded that his own insecurities and neurotic behavior had led to many of his problems at work.[6] “
The “other side” mentioned here is ESPN.
Remember the storyline in Full Metal Jacket where “Gomer Pyle” is driven insane while nobody notices until he shoots R.Lee Ermey?
Can you imagine what the set of Olbermann’s show is like? I bet it’s pretty freaky and all the while there is probably some MSNBC drill sergeant coaxing more and more outrageous performances out of Olby.
Olbersturmfuhrer is not fit to _________ General Petraus’______. He really is the most vile, putrid, steaming pile of _____ in American media. About the only person who comes close in the world is George Galloway, another vicious, smash-mouth _____, who really is wasting oxygen and other resources.

I can’t believe he’s on the Armed Forces Network. He’s always on at noon here in Iraq. I eat my lunch quickly and then go back to work just to keep from having to throw up listening to his insane rants.
