Middletown (WTNH) _ Wesleyan University will be breaking from tradition this year by closing their commencement ceremony to the public. The decision came after it was announced that Barack Obama will deliver the commencement address.
Wesleyan will issue a limited number of tickets to each graduate. In the past, the ceremony had been open to the public and seating was first-come, first-served.
Security will be increased for Sunday's graduation. Secret Service agents will be on hand for the ceremony, as will Middletown police officers and state troopers. Graduates will also have to pass through a metal detector before taking their seats.
"The university expects as much as several times the usual 8,000 to 10,000' attendees at the graduation," university spokeswoman Corrina Kerr told the Courant.
Sen. Obama will be replacing Sen. Ted Kennedy, who had originally been pegged to deliver the commencement address. Kennedy had to back out of the speaking engagement after recently being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

I cannot imagine anything of substance Oprah’s Obama will have to say. All he has to do is show up and get recognition for himself. What an “easy street”! The least experienced candidate with the easiest path to victory
Same reason MSM pulls Obama coverage after his prepared speeches. Can’t risk this moron being exposed [again] by some exchange, or off the cuff remark.
I wish somebody would offer me a ticket to it so that I could refuse it.
Yes, and now it starts.
There will be no chance of any conservative media or person being allowed to document what O’bomber says.
We will see more of the Communist Party Politburo methods to insure that O’bomber is placed in the White House.
There will be no chance of any conservative media or person being allowed to document what Obomber says....
the lib/dem and msm definition of the fairness doctrine!!!!
I can believe that.
I’m pretty sure the press cameras will be rolling so every word the redeemer-bama says will be available for his faithful followers.
Just because it’s not a first come first seated event, does not mean the press will not be there.
At least they didn't say "Robert Kennedy".
This is to drive home the message that America is racist and presents a danger to Obama.
I’ve also heard “messiahbama”
Anyway, he’ll be assured of an enforced-friendly audience:
“Everybody keep their hands out where we can see them!”
