NDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police made an arrest in a robbery that turned deadly.
Police said 18-year-old Keith Chandler lured a lock smith to the 600 block of West 31st Street early Wednesday morning...

BTW, it's also come out that Chandler had already been arrested THREE TIMES this year for everything from resisting arrest to battery.
Man, if anyone ever deserved the needle...
“...lured a lock smith...”
Firstly, how do you “lure” a locksmith, jingle keys?
(Sorry)
And, secondly, what kind of dumbass thinks a locksmith has a bunch of cash on him?
Did you really need to ask?
Have Indianapolis police made any arrests yet in the case of the pregnant bank teller who was shot in the stomach?
Fair question. It’s not in the story, but the guy had apparently been sent out on a call with the expectation of finding a motorist locked out of his car.
From what I’ve heard from my friends living in Indy, no arrests have been made on that case, sadly.
“Fair question. Its not in the story, but the guy had apparently been sent out on a call with the expectation of finding a motorist locked out of his car.”
Yeah, that’ll do it. But why a locksmith? I mean rob the pizza guy, at least you know he’s got crack-hit amounts of cash on him. A locksmith probably takes checks and debit cards.
I know crooks are stupid but this is too much.
Imagine a Twilight Zone episode where a guy who commits crimes for years and finally gets caught, ends up in prison. While there, he notices fewer and fewer inmates are admitted as his sentence is completed and he's finally paroled.
Upon release, he notices people are carrying weapons openly- going to and fro in everyday activities with guns either strapped to their side or carried over a shoulder with a strap.
The sound of sirens are absent from his memories of the city he knew so well. After two hours, he realizes he hasn't even seen a policeman or policecar. He buys a paper and immediately notices a lack of stories about crimes committed, something that was commonplace before his prison stint, and wonders if censorship is being used to 'erase' the criminal and his effects on society through some sort of 'state thought control'.
Desperately needing a way to support himself, he turns toward the classified employment opportunities section but stumbles upon the obituaries......the answer to his questions: a full page, with the names and faces of many of his friends and prison acquaintances, stares him in the face......
Ah! Sweet Dreams are made of this...who am I to disagree?
Does Indiana have the Death Penalty?
They may have a death penaslty, but if the jury buys into the Stop Snitchin’ garbage, he will never face the needle.
I like it!
but if the jury buys into the Stop Snitchin garbage, he will never face the needle. Can you explain that, please?
Wow, that would be a really good episode. However, it would never, EVER be made in or by Hollywood.
Stop Snitchin’ is a campaign that has its origins in the rap culture. The thrust of the campaign is to get inhabitants of the ‘hood to stop cooperating with the police because the police can’t be trusted. As a result, no one witnesses anything and criminals that otherwise would get taken to jail go scot-free. It is one of the most self-destructive ideas that has ever come out of the ghetto.
If the jury accepts this idea, they will almost certainly accept the idea that when a black man is on trial, it is because The Man wants to imprison him unjustly and that there are too many black men in prison already. So the jurors refuse to convict the criminal, despite an airtight case against him, and he is set free to commit other crimes. Or conduct his own search for the true killer.
Great storyline, Mr budwiesest! I'm thinking a 'Bladerunner' setting... the mind runs wild with possibilities.
(((sigh))) Oh, would that it were true. I fear the exact opposite, with totally-unarmed citizens, 5-6 jack-booted-federal-thugs on every city intersection, and the city lights dimming once every 30secs as *Ol' Sparky* executions are carried-out, en massé.
