Carter urges 'supine' Europe to break with US over Gaza blockade
The Guardian (UK) ^ | 5.26.08 | Jonathan Steele and Jonathan Freedland

Posted on 05/26/2008 10:49:44 AM PDT by OnRightOnLeftCoast

Britain and other European governments should break from the US over the international embargo on Gaza, former US president Jimmy Carter told the Guardian yesterday. Carter, visiting the Welsh border town of Hay for the Guardian literary festival, described the EU's position on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute as "supine" and its failure to criticise the Israeli blockade of Gaza as "embarrassing". Referring to the possibility of Europe breaking with the US in an interview with the Guardian, he said: "Why not? They're not our vassals. They occupy an equal position with the US."

Only Jummah would encourage taking it “lying down” on memorial day

Jimmy continues his bizarre behavior. I must admit he surprised even me by laying a wreath at the grave of Yasser Arafat. Stunningly insulting to all thew Jews, Arabs, Europeans and Americans maimed and murdered by that thug and his henchmen.

No wonder he’s in the bag for Obama. Birds of a feather, that sort of thing.

Typical for the traitor Carter, trying to undermine US policy in foreign lands. Has there ever been a more despicable ex-President? Before Jimmy C. there was a well-established tradition that ex-Presidents did not get into the political fray and instead either retired completely from public life or else devoted themselves to ceremonial and bi-partisan types of events. This was for the very good reasonn that it was better to have any living ex-Presidents be symbols of political unity and the basic enduring principles on which America was founded.

Jimmy C., in his egotism and mania for power and influence, totally trashed this tradition and has been just another partisan hack for the Demagogues.

XXX should break from the US over YYY, former US president Jimmy Carter told the Guardian yesterday

It doesn't really matter what "XXX" and "YYY" are - just the grammatical form of the sentence alone strikes me as treasonous.

Carter needs to visit Gitmo and not return, and never heard from again.

No wonder he started Habitats for Humanity out of guilt. He ripped people off during the early 1980s with his 18.5% home loan interest rates.

But I bet Obama can top an 18.5% interest rate. You just watch!

‘Carter, visiting the Welsh border town of Hay for the Guardian literary festival, described the EU’s position on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute as “supine” and its failure to criticise the Israeli blockade of Gaza as “embarrassing”.’

The most embarrassing thing I can think of is Jimmy Carter.

What a buffoon.

I wish President Bush would, in fact, rebuke the old fart vigorously. Then the democrats would have to rally to Jimmy’s side right square in the middle of the election campaign, at considerable political cost. Probably the reason Carter is overseas is to keep him off the skyline here in the U.S. so he doesn’t upstage Hillary and BO with his gaffes.

"Why not? They're not our vassals. They occupy an equal position with the US."

The beauty of being raised in a land in which men and women will die for, among other things, the right to free speech, is that no one will prevent you from opening your mouth and showing the entire world what spineless ass you are, if you happen to be one.

bitter-ex-president-pimping-for-a-legacy alert.

"Why not? They're not our vassals. They occupy an equal position with the US."

Well, in strictly feudal terms, Europe is more like the militarily impotent peasants cowering in the fortified castle protected by the military might of the feudal lord when danger comes around.

Unlike in a feudal society, the modern-day Europeans expect that military protection from America as if it were a European Union birth right.

Without U.S. military power, Europe would be begging Iran and Russia for oil at any price.

With Jimmy Carter policies in effect, America would be without any credible or effective military power.

Please put this despicable ex-president away where he can no longer harm us!! I caught a glimpse of his bugeyed puss on TV the other night and he looks like he is on his way out. In desperation, he seeks to create an image for history to remember instead of his disastrous administration. He only succeeds in making himself a laughing stock. AT LEAST, PLEASE SEND MIM BACK TO THE PEANUT FARM!!

Comparing Carter to Arnold is an insult to Arnold. Arnold was a very competent military commander that got shafted by the politics.

Not that it justifies what he did, but even the British detested him for his traitorous action afterward.

Carter doesn't really have any achievements to point to, and he's lionized by the left only to poke America in the eye.

Carter has plenty of company, though, with Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, B.Hussein Obama, Jim McDermott, Jay Rockefeller, ...

In a rational world, ‘Jimmuh’ would be bound and gagged. However, he could be useful. In the next few months, whenever foreign policy is debated, ‘Jimmuh’ should be held up as an example of Democrat expertise in foreign policy. Over and over, again and again, relentlessly.

So Traitorous Jimmah calls the EU “supine”?

The Eurabians are already supine, but not for the reason he thinks.

So what is the mechanism via which Carter luanches media blitz (like the present one) when things have gotten too quiet for his own ego??

There are numerous “Carter says” stories that have just appeared this weekend. It is normally a time of memorials, parades, family, graduations-—but not a great deal of other news.

I marvel at these liberals who just love terrorists, dictators and murderers. This retard of an ex-president is fully willing to experiment with other peoples lives for the sake of his mental delusions.

‘...whenever foreign policy is debated, ‘Jimmuh’ should be held up as an example of Democrat expertise in foreign policy...’

sad part is that the media won’t dwell on the despicable comments made by Carter and even sadder is that the Republicans...including McCain... don’t seem to have any ‘fight’ in them....whether it comes to Carter or Obama. The ‘R’s’ haven’t learned that they lost the 2006 Congress cause they ‘kissed up’ to the Dims rather than standing up for what’s right for our country.
