Jimmy Carter: Calls for the EU to Break with USA over Gaza
DBKP ^ | May 26, 2008 | Mondoreb

The Jimmy Carter Trifecta

Jimmy Carter\'s bus

Beep! Beep! Come on, Jimmy! Time to go!

Jimmy Carter continues his brave but losing battle against diarrhea of the mouth.

Carter, ex-president, continued his nearly 3-decades-long "Crusade to Be Relevant" by calling for the European Union to break with the U.S. over Jimmy's Kids, the Palestinians.

Britain and other European governments should break from the US over the international embargo on Gaza, former US president Jimmy Carter told the Guardian yesterday. Carter, visiting the Welsh border town of Hay for the Guardian literary festival, described the EU's position on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute as "supine" and its failure to criticise the Israeli blockade of Gaza as "embarrassing".

Referring to the possibility of Europe breaking with the US in an interview with the Guardian, he said: "Why not? They're not our vassals. They occupy an equal position with the US."

Carter is no more relevant today than 30 years ago. To recount the blunderful Carter years would keep one busy for months--even if Jimmy suddenly went deaf, dumb and blind.

So, we turned to one of the best.

Talk radio should start a massive Imus-type campaign to get this loser to shut up once and for all. Make it like the big deal it is and relentlessly go after this piece of crap.

What a sickening unpatriotic disgrace. No wonder he lost his re-election ass in a landslide.

Does Carter even take a public stance on Hamas' innumerable rocket strikes into Israel from Gaza? I suspect his private stance whenever they hit a target is ....."YES!"

This man should be put under house arrest and have his passport pulled, ex-President or no.

Carter has no business interfering in the foreign policies of a subsequent Presidential administration.

Jimmy Carter, without question the worst President in the history of the Republic. He makes Aaron Burr and Benedict Arnold look like true patriots. And remember, this worthless scum is held in the highest regard by the Democrat Party - is there anyone out there who thinks that the Democrat Party is not a mortal enemy of this country?

What I don’t get is that how come GOP has not punced on this obvious political gold - Portray Obama as Carter-II.

If nothing else, you force Obama to distance himself further from Carter and look like a hypocrite to his lefty looney tune base.

Jeremiah Wright didn’t get the job done. Carter may do the trick.

Well put. Seems there is no one to act as his checks and balances; no editor; no one to put a bag over his head when he 'goes public'. No depths for him to sink to; that are low enough. . .

Wonder if he has written his obituary and whether, a political cannonization will erupt, when it becomes news.

Let Jimmuh babble, it should send the message to even the most moderate of Jews that Obamao ain’t feelin’ the love for the Judenheim...

(Said with respect of course, either way, Obama would be worse then Carter for Israel)

When he was only making the news by working with "Habitat for Humanity", I, perhaps foolishly, said; "There is somebody I admire for his post-presidency." When he started on his Carter Diplomacy Tours (Korea, Syria, Egypt etc.) while Clinton was POTUS, I started to see a skunk in his image.

Now, I'd like to see him nailed in a crate and sent on a slow boat to Iran with a food supply of pork cracklings, peanuts and reconstituted Billy Beer! I apologize to Billy Carter's ghost, you were the smart one after all.

Ex prez jimmy carter with michael moore at 2004 democrat convention

The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. Get it, Mr. Bush?
-actual quote from Michael Moore (2004). It still appears on his website:
http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/message/index.php?messageDate=2004-04-14

The next one is also on his website...

The Communist Party USA (CPUSA):
"We are a party of unity in action. We are an integral part of every struggle and movement for change to eliminate poverty and joblessness, against racism and for full equality. We are participants, initiators and leaders of every movement to make life better now and much better in a socialist future." Yeah, so they supported an oppressive dictator, like the Repubs and Democrats haven't? The CP is still around, has apologized for that whole Stalin thing, and has a quickly growing youth section.

See: MichaelMoore.com-->Links-->PoliticalAction (bottom of the page--CPUSA promo)

Unfortunately, it seems that 109 historians disagree with you, they have recently chosen the current President for this position. Of course, I'm of an age that remembers Ronald Reagan getting a similar accolade from contemporary historians as late as 1996.

In September 1987, [William 'Billy'] Carter was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and took unsuccessful treatments for the disease. Carter died in Plains at the age of 51. His parents and both of his sisters also died from pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is as bad as it gets, not there is any good cancer.

A question journalists should pose to Clinton and Obama? ( We know they won't , but if we had honest, unbiased scribes, they would have already done so.)

Do you think it appropriate for a former president to bash his country on foreign soil?
Do you think it is appropriate for a former president to overtly encourage foreign governments to work against US foreign and security policy?
Do you think a former president who behaves in this manner should be invited to participate in the Democrat Convention?

Ranking the current President is not a job for historians. By engaging in this popularity contest, they have simply revealed their political bias, as if we didn't know already.

...they have simply revealed their political bias, ...

Yeah, but think how it boosts their academic and collegial status! Gee, some might even claim credit for being 'daring' and 'cutting edge'. On the Reagan put-down, Schlessinger is permanently unavailable for comment, but I wonder if the vote may have changed now that a further 12 years (40 years total) perspective.

My personal view is that perspective will enhance George W, perhaps greatly.
