Sola Scriptura: "The formal principle of the Protestant Reformation and one of the five solas, referring to the Protestant idea that the Bible alone is the ultimate authority, not the pope or tradition."
I am writing of politics not theology. Are you saying that Protestant religious leaders have no political interest or influence? Or are you saying they do not have leadership qualities? And why should Evangelicals form a voluntary association anyway?
I am saying evangelicals are so sectarian that saying any particular evangelical teacher is a leader in general is much the same as saying that Barbara Streisand is a leader in music. Evangelicism is far to broad a term to encompass a general leader. Even the late Billy Graham was not universally accepted as a "Leader" within evangelicism.
Bottom line, evangelicism is too diverse to have a leader. Put up a Calvinist and the Arminianists get mad, and on and on.
