The battered para who had to leave the Army last year after seven years of service when he injured his back in a jump was attacked in Bradford. He was struck ten times on the body and face, leaving him with a suspected fractured skull and terrible facial injuries.
The man, who does not want to be identified for fear he could be targeted again, had just finished a shift as a part-time security guard at 3am.
As he smoked a cigarette outside a pizza shop, his attacker struck for no reason, snarling that he would "put him out of his misery".
The victim said: "At least in Iraq you know who the enemy is. Over here it can be anyone. I genuinely believe that when you go out at night over here its more dangerous than Iraq."

There is no Britain. It has died. It will never come back.
I posted this not long ago. I’m sad to say that I think you’re right.

When I help my friend by working as a security guard or bodyguard, I’m armed. But of course, no one in Britain may own a firearm, can they?
And I fear America is following the same path.
Sassenachs arise and take back your country!
I fear you are correct. I also fear the best days of this country are behind us.
“There is no Britain. It has died. It will never come back.”
Sad, but true. They did it to themselves. A nation whose citizens no longer feel their culture is worth saving always disappears. Sic transit Brittania.
"I fear you are correct. I also fear the best days of this country are behind us."
I was guarding building sites at night, and they gave me a dog to look after me...:^)
The local kids just went and ripped off another building site that had no guard, and the cops (who still walked a beat back then) like my little hut for the hot tea/coffee any time of the night.
An easy job for a student - if you could stay awake...:^) Wouldn't recommend for anyone to do it now though.

Reason #2 why I carry two concealed pistols. Yes, with a license!

Well now, there is one step to take in the war against high fuel costs... restart foot patrols!
I'm in
A friend who served in Iraq said he felt the same way about the West and South Side of Chicago. He worked out of the Jackson St. Marine recruit station.
I more less agree, but have to point out they were NEVER “citizens”: they are SUBJECTS. That tends to explain a lot.
Never forget that the vaunted Magna Carta applied to Titled Lords in relation to the King; it had NOTHING to do with esnes, serfs, peasants, the yeomanry, or non-titled gentlemen.
B.F. Skinner, the greatest authority on psychological conditioning, said that the cultures that survive are those that can induce their members to work for their survival.
I guess that leaves out the ones that practice multiculturalism.
Yep, and in Iraq, I carry a weapon. I wouldn't be allowed to do that in Britain.
I'll be danged...Iraq is safer than Britain.
We have systematically turned our back on every single aspect of the “American Way” and the results are readily apparent. When something that once worked is no longer working it's pretty easy to troubleshoot the problem. Trace your steps back to when it stopped working and fix the change that precipitated the undesired change. We have lots of possibilities, starting with turning our back on God.
This side of heaven we will never see or enjoy perfection, but it's silly to deny ourselves the best of what we can attain simply because the liberals among us insist, if we can't have perfection, then we can't have any aspect of our lives working well. The examples of this are legion! No winners in sports for kids, take from producers to give to the non-producers, etc. When you have ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’ you help the have-not’s by improving their lot in life, not by making the have’s less comfortable.

The little girl is leading the pledge to the flag!
Great pic!
It ain’t over yet!
“I more less agree, but have to point out they were NEVER ‘citizens’: they are SUBJECTS. That tends to explain a lot.”
Yes, indeed. They ARE subjects. However, because THEY have the franchise, THEY think they are citizens.
Wrong:
” * I. FIRST, We have granted to God, and by this our present Charter have confirmed, for Us and our Heirs for ever, that the Church of England shall be free, and shall have all her whole Rights and Liberties inviolable. We have granted also, and given to all the Freemen of our Realm, for Us and our Heirs for ever, these Liberties under-written, to have and to hold to them and their Heirs, of Us and our Heirs for ever.
* IX. THE City of London shall have all the old Liberties and Customs which it hath been used to have. Moreover We will and grant, that all other Cities, Boroughs, Towns, and the Barons of the Five Ports, and all other Ports, shall have all their Liberties and free Customs.
* XXIX. NO Freeman shall be taken or imprisoned, or be disseised of his Freehold, or Liberties, or free Customs, or be outlawed, or exiled, or any other wise destroyed; nor will We not pass upon him, nor condemn him, but by lawful judgment of his Peers, or by the Law of the Land. We will sell to no man, we will not deny or defer to any man either Justice or Right.”
Note use of the word ‘freeman’.
As for the article, this is from the Sun, a tabloid newspaper known for hysterical exaggeration and making s**t up. Some years ago my own grandmother featured in a story and they not only put words in her mouth, but they made stuff up that she had never said or implied in any way. Tabloid journalists are lying bastards, so excuse me if I don’t take as gospel that a British Para thinks that Britain is more dangerous than Iraq, I’ve never been to Iraq, but I’ve lived in Britain all my life and I am frequently in areas that could be described as dodgy. As yet, I haven’t been shot at, blown up or mortared as I might expect if I was in Iraq. I’ve never even been beaten up or stabbed. Who’d have thunk it?
Many in Britain though feel the word subject actually gave them greater freedom and rights than being citizens. Cannot really comment myself as always having been a citizen. It is noticeable that the Labour government keep emphasizing the word citizen after all it was a Labour government who got us to be Citizens in the first place. Other parties in particular the Conservative Party seem to use the word British more than citizen.
Mind you he does live in Bradford and I must admit I do not think I would want to be on the streets in Bradford late at night but then neither would I want to be in the streets in Chicago or other cities worldwide that are known for violence late at night.
That explains my error. As a two year old, I could only pay attention to one thing at a time, and the formation of Israel & the first Arab/Israeli war took precedence, being louder. *<];-)
I dare say more Brits would be more aware of formation of Israel in 1948 rather than it as also the year that any baby born was now a British citizen not a subject, those born before 1948 are still subjects.
Therefore my dad is classed as a subject and I am a citizen.
More of what I’m talking about PING
Bring back Enoch Powell (All is forgiven)
