Thank God. Rooty`s an abortionist and he was rightly kicked to the curb.

I dunno... I am keeping $4K more of my salary per year because of Bush reducing the federal income tax rate. I and neither stupid nor unhappy about keeping more of my paycheck.

Na, he has been campaigning for serious pro-life, pro-gun, conservatives since l998, right here in my state.

He's more like a agnostic (which is not good), and looks at it thru just legal “what would we do with Drs and women” kind of lense, unfortunately. I think he was changing like many Americans in recent years.

But, he doesn't work against, and wasn't hostile to those who thought differently.

Obviously, he has respect since he campaigned for prolife candidates for years, and absoultely hates the UnAmerican Democrat Party.

IMO, his tone, attitude, track record of results battling the leftwing orthodoxy, is far superior to McCain.

Rooty’s a liberal Republican. What we use to call a Rockefeller Republican. Those are the facts. His life long record in support of liberal issues and liberal causes was thoroughly exposed in this GOP primary season.

Conservatives rejected his candidacy. Some high profile Republicans backed Rooty and in doing so sold out their credibility with the rightwing.

IMO, Giuliani belongs back in the Democratic Party.

While at the same time addressing NARAL banquets and getting awards from them.

Which didn't prevent him from endorsing Cuomo over Pataki.

You act like we've forgotten the great Rudy debates from last year.

Na, he actually GOVERNED a liberal mecca, very conservatively, and very successfully. He battled the liberal city council and liberal media, and won. He cut taxes, regulations, cracked down on crime, and pushed school choice.

He campaigned on supply side economics, a strong military, strict constructionist judges.

Of course he was not an ideologue, left or right.

As a conservative, I would have preferred his track record on battling liberals, because he has already done it, and I value accomplishment and results.

And obviously the base's track record on choosing candidates is nothing to crow about, maybe a mercenary like RG, who did more than just vote on legislation, and actually ACTIVELY PERFORMED, and actually made decisions that WORKED, would have been a good change.

LOL, we had a “debate”?

Hardly, but anyway, Republican primary voters have chosen McCain.

Who, imo, is far less rightwing than RG. Comparing track records and accomplishments, tone and attitude, I'll take RG anyday.

You are a correct, it wasn't much of a debate. The Rudy boosters trashed Reagan's legacy, defined conservatism leftwards and otherwise engaged in behavior unbecoming a Freeper. I'm not happy with McCain, but he's still a far sight better than Rudy. McCain's never gotten awards from NARAL that I can see, and McCain's never addressed gun control rallies either.

Oh, and one of the main reasons McCain won is that he was able to exploit the changes to the NY and NJ primaries that Rudy had put in place to help his candidacy. So if you want to bitch about McCain, place much of the blame squarely on Rudy’s shoulders.

strict constructionist judges.

Don't make me laugh. According to Rudy, a strict constructionist could vote to uphold Roe.

Ummmmm, well, let people read for themselves.

Regardless, we are on the same side whether you like it or not, lol!

And, again, I believe that RG’s record of conservative ACCOMPLISHMENTS, and respect for our opinions (even if he disagrees), is far, far, superior to McCain. (since McCain actually CAMPAIGNED outright AGAINST conservatives for decades now).

This is a matter of who has already battled the liberals the best, who can battle the Islamic Cults the best, (not by closing Gitmo, complaining about “torture”, promising to apologize to other countries about Iraq, shutting down domestic intell), as McCain has vowed to do.

Who has a track record of battling bureaucracy, who said the “era of anti-americanism” at State, “must end”.

I just would have preferred a ruthless SOB this time around.

Sorry, defending Giuliani isn't born of a conservative mentality. The fact the liberal media in NYC fought Rooty at every turn had to do with his gestapo tactics in fighting crime. Something people on the rightwing found unacceptable far too often. Confiscating property and guns of law abiding citizens isn't consistent with the US Constitution. Rooty may have had some limited success in his first term. By NYC liberals standards, however. But his second term was anything but successful. The income tax cuts Rooty pushed through in the end were minimal --- $200 million at best. By time he left office, spending was up 36%, the city was left with a $2-billion deficit and the debt had increased to $42-billion. The fact you feel this need to defend Giuliani, shows how unconservative you are.

Ummmmm, well, let people read for themselves.

Being pro-abortion rights and anti-gun rights is hardly the mark of a conservative. And someone who is ruthless without core values is just ... a loose cannon. They can hurt you just as bad as the intended target.

LOL, RG’s record of Conservative accomplishments in a liberal mecca like NY speaks for itself, and very, very, very, well I will add. And as history is still proving.

And AS a rightwing Conservative/Republican, I would again say, our track record for choosing Conservative nominees, who fit our long list of litmus tests, have not served us well since RR.

It would have been nice to have a man who actually did more than talk and vote, made hard decisions, battled daily with liberal orthodoxy, and won. Instead we have a man who spends more time attacking Republican grassroots, than the Dems.

But, that's just me, we can disagree and be on the same side you know.

Doing OK, RM. I thought Rudy’s flame-out in Florida would have ended this debate, but I stand corrected. How are you doing?

I disagree, campaigning and raising money for pro-life and pro-gun, Congressmen and Governors, TO BE ELECTED in Federal and State Houses for decades throughout the United States, is hardly some rabid zealot who wants more abortions and to take away our guns.

But, who knows, maybe McCain will surprise us, (even tho just today he dissed the Vets group for running a anti-Hussein ad)

Sigh.
