John Bolton: Citizen's arrest attempt was comic
Telegraph ^ | 5/29/08 | Stephen Adams

Posted on 05/30/2008 2:01:04 PM PDT by Dawnsblood

Brushing aside Mr Monbiot’s attempted citizen’s arrest, he said: “I think in my own individual case it’s kind of comic.”

But he added: “I think there’s a larger issue here. You have a democratically elected parliament and its government assessed the war as legal and proper.”

When individuals took actions outside the law, in their eyes to bring those responsible for the war to justice, “that is the point you move towards lawlessness and fascism,” he said.

And when one’s views do match those of the democratically elected government, “you have to accept that”, he added.

Dismissing Mr Monbiot’s attempted citizen’s arrest as “street theatre”, he claimed not to have been aware of much opposition towards his visit.

“I don’t see a lot of it, I must say,” he said. “I would assess it in the same way I assess Monbiot – as an indication of the larger potential problem.”

Get ready for some rough sailing if Obama is elected. This type of harrasment will increase. We are going into a full scale war with these evil people.

It’s been suggested by credible sources that “monbiot” is indeed the root word of “moonbat”.

I believe “mon” is French for “my.”

By context, I am going to assume “biot” is French for “bitch.”

I don’t think anything will. There are people who just cannot be reasoned with or with whom you cannot expect to have a rational and civil discussion with. They have heard a few bumper sticker slogans about foreign policy, economics, and the environment and it has made them into True Believers. You cannot expect a sane reaction from such people when you confront them with other ideas or attempt to engage them in a debate. It doesn’t take much to convince them that they are right - just a bumper sticker slogan or two, and if it wasn’t for those they wouldn’t even have an opinion - and you can be damn sure that they aren’t going to let someone come around and confuse them with stuff that contradicts what they have built up in their minds as absolute truth.

We have BEEN in a full scale war with these people for some time. The problem is, most of our side hasn’t seemed to notice.

Much of the liberal mindset of what I call the Useful Idiots is based on nothing more than feel-good, touchy feely crap. If something makes them “feel good” they fall for it. There is no logic involved. Then when it comes back to bite them in the _ss, they don’t know what to think. They just go on to fall for the next scam perputrated on them. They don’t realize that when the users with the real agenda are done with them, they will be tossed out like the trash.

“We are going into a full scale war with these evil people.”

I’ve been thinking this for a long time. I think there will be armed conflict between the leftwing, self-righteous, self appointed fascist fruitcakes in this country and the rest of the population.

I think the left is totally nuts and detachted from pragmatic reality as I know it.

The left wants to destroy freedom and America’s ability to defend itself.

"John Bolton for President."

When I read this, I immediately thought. "We need someone with John Bolton's temperment, plus his intellect" then I thought, We sure haven't found it yet in the Republican elites. Why NOT John Bolton?

He would make a great President. As much as I like GWB, he hasn't been the most fiscally responsible POTUS. I think Bolton would match so much my exact stance on almost everything. He would run circles around McCain.

The left will use gangs and other thug types. We will have normal Americans and we have more guns. If that happens, we are going into armed “Balkinization”. Hopefully common sense will prevail against them and people will wake up. Then they can’t win but a lot of damage would be done.

I have made this analogy in a couple of other places and I think it fits the situation pretty well.

Everyone likes to sleep comfortably and peacefully and then awaken slowly. America has been lulled into such a sleep over the past seventy or eighty years. Unfortunately, the warm quilt is about to be pulled off and a bucket of ice water thrown on it. America is going to wake up. The question is whether it’s going to be fighting mad or whimpering for more government handouts.

Regardless of whether Obama, Clinton or McCain steps into the oval office, we’re going to have a more socialistic government than we have now. Have fun with it folks!

“There are people who just cannot be reasoned with or with whom you cannot expect to have a rational and civil discussion with. “

“Are you talking to me?!”

You must be talking about some of my “friends” and relatives.

I'm like Jesse White, the Maytag repairman, the loneliest conservative in my family and circle of “friends” or acquaintances.

As far as I'm concerned, the left represents suicide, the suicide of freedom, America and Western civilization.

They just don't get it. There's going to be a shooting war in this country over things like this. Push always comes to shove.

I’m afraid you are right. I don’t know how America will wake up with the ice water though. I know there will be some hornets stirring about. I’m afraid the mainstream will just take it all in stride and when they do wake up they will realize they are like little worker ants working and existing for the ‘State’.

“The pejorative political epithet “Moonbat” is often used by various political commentators to mock Monbiot.[30] The epithet was coined in 2002 by Perry de Havilland of Samizdata.net, a libertarian weblog. The claim that the term was originally used as a play on Monbiot’s surname[31] has been denied by de Havilland - the full epithet being “barking moonbat”. Monbiot himself does not object to the epithet.[32]”
