Registry not appropriate for all states.
Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton told Montana reporters Friday that she no longer favors national handgun registration and licensing, even as she supports such measures in her adopted state of New York.
"What I came out for was the New York law," the U.S. senator said in a noon conference call Friday. "I don't think there is any contradiction between defending Second Amendment rights and trying to keep guns out of the hands of" criminals and the mentally ill.
In 2000, as she was beginning her campaign for senator from New York, Clinton came out as first lady in favor of licensing and registering of all new handguns sold in the United States. She also supported a bill that would create a registry of all guns sold in the U.S., along with requiring buyers to get a license and undergo a background check.
Clinton said Friday that guns are "reaping all kinds of damage" in some parts of the country and that governments there ought to be able to license and register handguns if it makes streets safer.
But she said such laws may not be appropriate in Montana.

She wants us disarmed and at her mercy.

Gun laws are not pick and choose. Same standard should apply to all 50 states. RBKA is a national constitutional right, not a selective state right.
Not a pick and choose topic Hillary. No compromise.

To: george76
She was for it before she was against it before she was for it in some cases but maybe not all cases but just possibly in a few cases where people might be okay with them if their government allows it but that was before she had a chance to consider it in the light of recent findings which indicate that in some cases...

It is the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.
You either support the Constitution and back it or you do not.
Why would it be alright for a Montanan to have a gun but not a New Yorker? Why alright for someone that lives in say Nashville but not alright for someone that lives in DC?

I have never seen a gun reap any kind of damage without the aid of a human being.........
So Clinton must mean that in some parts of the Country there are more bad human beings then in others..........

"... "I don't think there is any contradiction between defending Second Amendment rights and trying to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill." I don't either, Senator Clinton. Even with strict scrutiny on the right to keep and bear arms, the government has compelling interest in doing so.
However, that's not at all what you socialist do-gooders have been trying to do for the last forty years. It's just your cover story.

Yes, that will be a great day indeed.
I am encouraged by the progress that we have made over the last 20 years of expansion with respect to "shall-issue" concealed carry laws, and our successes with "stand your ground" laws. People like Ms. Marion Hammer deserve a lot of praise for their steady work on this type of legislative progress.
But, like you, I will only be satisfied when the whole map is green.

Clinton said Friday that guns are "reaping all kinds of damage" in some parts of the country... No, Marxism is reaping all kinds of damage in some parts of the country. And in certain Marxist strongholds, especially among certain demographics of those cites, that damage manifests itself as violence committed with firearms among others.
...and that governments there ought to be able to license and register handguns if it makes streets safer.
Whether they ought to or not, they have. And the result has been without exception to create the most dangerous ares in the country.

No, Marxism is reaping all kinds of damage in some parts of the country. I recall reading, though I haven't found a proper cite, that the notion of a single woman being allowed to demand child support is comparatively recent, and was imposed by judges rather than legislators. I strongly suspect that notion has done more damage than almost any other, since it served to grant legitimacy to the concept of single motherhood.
IMHO, unless a mother is in a position to support a child without the aid of money forcibly taken from someone else, giving the child up for adoption would in almost all cases be better for everyone concerned. Allowing the mother to demand child support from the father will encourage a course of action which will be to everyone's detriment.

This was Rudy Gool-iani's position as well: leave Montana alone, but allow NY and NJ to continue their fascistic infringements on the rights of gunowners.
