Mark Steyn: Sexism, not Obama, beat Hillary
ocregister.com ^ | May 31st, 2008 | MARK STEYN

"Someone wins, someone doesn't win, that's life," Nancy Kopp, Maryland's treasurer, told The Washington Post. "But women don't want to be totally dissed." She was talking about her political candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Democratic women are feeling metaphorically battered by the Obama campaign. "Healing The Wounds Of Democrats' Sexism," as the Boston Globe headline put it, will not be easy. Geraldine Ferraro is among many prominent Democrat ladies putting up their own money for a study from the Shorenstein Center at Harvard to determine whether Sen. Clinton's presidential hopes fell victim to party and media sexism.

How else to explain why their gal got clobbered by a pretty boy with a resume you could print on the back of his driver's license, a Rolodex apparently limited to neosegregationist race-baiters, campus Marxist terrorists and indicted fraudsters, and a rhetorical surefootedness that makes Dan Quayle look like Socrates.

"On this Memorial Day," said Barack Obama last Monday, "as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes – and I see many of them in the audience here today."

Hey, why not? In Obama's Cook County, Ill., many fallen heroes from the Spanish-American War still show up in the voting booths come November. It's not unreasonable for some of them to turn up at an Obama campaign rally, too.

But what of the fallen heroine? If it's any consolation to Sen. Clinton, she's not the only female to find that social progress is strangely accommodating of old-time sexism. There was a front-page story in London last week about a British Indian couple in Birmingham – she's 59, he's 72 – who'd had twins through in vitro fertilization and then abandoned the babies at the hospital when they turned out to be daughters........................................................................................................................................................................................

Geraldine and the other ladies might just as well save their money and be honest with themselves....Ms. Clinton is not fit to lead this country; she has been mendacious from day one in all areas. Americans are fed up with the Clinton Mob, the lowering of dignity and honor for the highest office in the land. Ms. Clinton is far from a silk purse and she really isn't very bright, just a good actress. Her obsession with the Bureaucratic/Socialist mess called "Universal Health Care" is unconstitutional in the first place which shows the woman has no respect for our Constitution, which everyone knows anyway. No Geraldine and gang should find, if they can, a woman who is worthy of representing all Americans, not just a few feminists who really don't give a whit about their country either as long as they can elect a woman. And Barack Hussein Muhammad Obama and his racist Missus, Michelle, will only be another twofer also Socialist and Marxist, not even close to patriotic Americans. IMHO

The majority of folks in this country dislike Miss Hitlery and have done so for some time. Running a presidential campaign is not going to force us to like her. And she doesn’t have FBI files on all voters, bless her heart.

While McCain is no paragon of conservatism, to say that he and Hillary are basically the same is ludicrous. On defense issues alone, they are polar opposites.

This is all crap.
The Clintons have shown themselves to be totally reprehensible
people for a couple decades now.
Neither is worth a bucket of spit or a broken fungo bat.
Both Clintons are garbage.

Elect our candidate or we will feel ‘dissed’.

Hmmm. That is a good campaign slogan. NOT.

Hillary lost because she ran an atrocious campaign. She is after all, the ONLY candidate to have TWO major donors convicted on FELONY CHARGES this year.

And he wants to wine about “Rezco”

Could it be because a majority of the democRats figured out that "their gal" is a vile, evil and power-hungry b!tch that makes B.O. look like a statesman?

Or was it because the male sexist democRats and the black racist democRats combined outnumber the female sexist democRats and the white racist democRats combined?

Americans are fed up with the Clinton Mob, the lowering of dignity and honor for the highest office in the land.

It is important to remember that most Americans NEVER liked the Clinton Mob.

The Clintons won with pluralities in both 1992 and 1996, due to Perot's third party campaign siphoning votes away from the Republicans.

In 1992, 57% of the voters voted AGAINST Clinton. In 1996, 51% of the voters voted AGAINST Clinton.

In 1994, after only 2 years of the Clintons' presidency, the voters were so fed up with the Clinton Mob that the democRats lost control of the House, the Senate, and a majority of the state legislatures and governorships. This was a smack-down of historic proportions.

Only the MSM, Hollyweird, and the most cool-aid drinking of left wing democRats ever loved the Clintons. The only thing that has changed is that the far, far left has decided that they love B.O. more.

More like "ageism" -- if that's actually a word.

Seems like in every Democratic primary cycle there's a beefy, slow old guy who's got IOU's from past elections and the younger challenger. Make that old guy a woman and it doesn't change much. Make the younger challenger Black or part-Black, and maybe it does.

But I guess the articles not really about Hillary at all. No doubt it's true that Asian families prefer boys. I wonder whether, given a choice, Western couples are going to prefer girls: they're quieter and easier to manage, and for the time being, women really like the ratrace more than guys.
