But unlike the customers rolling up to the station's pumps this week, resigned to the fact that their wallets were about to take a beating, Rocky Twyman and company had a plan to bring that number tumbling down.

They would ask God to do it.

"Our pockets are empty, but we're going to hold on to God!" Twyman, a community organizer from Rockville, said as he and seven other people formed a semicircle, held hands and sang, pleading for divine intervention to lower fuel prices.

If they were working at 7-11 instead of the time they spent praying for earthly things, at least they would have more money to pay for gas.

Praying is laudatory, but working to change the political environment is, too. Drill Alaska and the coast. Now.

Praying is laudatory. I am not as much of an expert on christiantiy as others here.. but, I suspect that praying for minor earthly needs is what Jesus wanted.

Why not pray for a job at 7-11 while they’re at it?

Before...or after taxes?

Biblically, prayers for all needs are worthy. God cares about the hairs on our head, and about our eternal souls. :)

I suppose I am open to that from a theoretical standpoing.. Just that with so much suffering and unbelief in the world, it seems to me that people praying for things that are relatively trivial are missing the point.. but I am open to your views.

This isn’t a closed “Shell Gas Station Owners” Caucus is it? Can I bash Citgo just a teeny little bit?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I used to pray over my gas when I was in college...

I would believe that God would make my car go further on the gas I just put in it...

And He would...

I would go for many miles long AFTER the gas gauge was on EMPTY...

other people would hear me pray and ask if that worked...

I said it works for me...

I made believers out of a lot of people...

Jehovah-jirah..my provider..Jehovah will see to it..
