Eight in past week, two of which were in the past hour. Probably just a statistical artifact, but something for the rest of us living on other parts of the Ring of Fire to keep in mind...
The plates are restless...again, (still)
That should be eight in the past DAY.
*sigh*
I was in Reno last week and wouldn’tcha know it...not one tremor...involving the earth of course.
Hopefully all this tectonic shifting will mean an ocean of crude oil is being formed somewhere under the US.
Not shown on the maps, Cheju Island, SK had a shaker 2 days ago.
Thanks. I couldn’t for the life of me get it to copy.
Hmmmmmmm. I remember that 4.2 ish?
The USGC will remove events that weren't actually earthquakes...
There are an average of 4 5.0+ earthquakes a day, most of which will be on the “Ring of Fire.”
I don’t see anything remotely unusual.
: ) Now I can’t get that Ring of Fire tune out of my head.
Here, have another...
Magnitude-4.2 earthquake hits South Korea's Jeju island
First there was an earthquake, then there wan no earthquake then there was (to paraphrase Donovan...)
Had the same thought as you when the USGS pinged my e mail with all these events.
All is quite here on the PNW coast.
*shrug* only 3X the baseline rate.
It’s always a good day to be aware of how earthquake proof your stuff is at any given moment...
Here ya go:
The lock upon my garden gate’s a snail, that’s what it is
The lock upon my garden gate’s a snail, that’s what it is
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain, then there is
Caterpillar sheds his skin to find the butterfly within
Caterpillar sheds his skin to find the butterfly within
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain
Oh, Juanita, oh, Juanita
Oh, Juanita I call your name
Oh, the snow will be a blinding sight to see as it lies on yonder hillside
The lock upon my garden gate’s a snail, that’s what it is
The lock upon my garden gate’s a snail, that’s what it is
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain then there is no mountain, then there is
{Repeat to fade}
(Or, why people who smoke way too much dope shouldn’t be trusted with a pencil)...
I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and I have earthquake insurance. It’s somewhat expensive, but I’m told that the bedrock here is quite solid, rendering a small earthquake into a damaging one. We last had one here in the 1970’s. I remember it because it woke me up that night.
