I honestly don’t believe either Wright or Pfleger actively want to hamstring Obama.

They just can’t help themselves here. They want to take their acts to the national stage. YouTube is their best friend.

And I’m wondering if an earlier poster is right about Chicago being the epicenter of Black hatemongering. It’s so much easier for a pastor to cater to his flock’s prejudices that to challenge them to take responsibility for their behavior and live moral lives.

America and all its works are evil. That is a first principle for these two (and for most of those cheering them from the pews at Trinity). Barack and Michelle believe this as well. So their first instinct is to state out loud what they really believe to be true about America.

Of course afterwards when they realize what this does to their campaign to get votes from whites they start to back and fill, to disavow and to explain and to hope the short attention span of the public will dump these outrageous statements down the memory hole long before November arrives.

And if these statements are not forgotten by the majority of Americans in November and they lose the election, that just proves that America is racist, and justifies their original statement.
