May 19 was a fairly typical day in the recent life of the Drudge Report.

There was a breathtaking picture of Senator Barack Obama’s rally in Portland, Ore., framed by the words “AS FAR AS CAMERA'S EYE CAN SEE… THE OBAMA MASS.”

Now, as Obama and Senator John McCain look toward the fall, Drudge has emerged unexpectedly as more of a threat to the Republican than to the Democrat.

This statement is ironic considering the GOP has been incrementally favoring the socialist left for several years to expand it's voter base. If anything Drudge is only helping the increasingly socialistic GOP if what Politico is reporting about Drudge is accurate.

Drudge is in the tank for Obama. He once posted a top-story picture of Hillary full of wrinkles mocking hner appearance; he broke the rumor that the Hil campaign spread a picture of Obama in Somali garb.

Sadly, The Drudge report probably qualifies as an Obama 527 by now.
He has buried, ignored or only posted the Obama defense his website on the following stories. Drudge never reported the Obama gaffes about “typical white person”, 57 states, the numerous Memorial day screw ups,Michele's lovely “ taking some people's pie of the pie” speech , Hamas comments, Iranian comments ,ignored the Ayers scandal, ran only the Obama defense comments about Wright , and Bittergate. Then he has run as a headlines for two to three days these glowing Obama press release photo ops . Lets face it, Drudge is an Obama operative.

I agree, drudge has the HOTS for B. Hussein OsAMA! I've noticed Drudge posting favorable pix of OsAMA and cruel pix of Hitlery and sometimes Bush. Though Hitlery is getting the brunt of it!

You right. Please note he has IGNORED the fact she won PR by a 70/30 split . he also posts any trash about McCain too and any photos that make him look bad. Obama is treated with kid gloves and anything negative is IGNORED or the Obama press releases are just posted. Just notice how the priest scandal was handled , Matt only posted Obama’s press release defending him but never the comments by the priest.

I think one of the most telling is Phlegler’s speech which would have been worthy of the siren in the past, wasn't even referenced and finally when it was, he buried it in column 3 and then quickly put up the story titled Amen with Obama in a praying pose to offset it in column 1.

It is looking worse and worse for McCain everyday.

I suspect there is more to the story involving either money or blackmail.Matt suddenly stopped posting negative Obama stories in Dec - Jan and he has gotten more and more like an Obama For President website.

Maybe Drudge expects to see more website traffic (and therefore more $$$) in 4 years of stories about Obama than in 4 years of stories about McCain.

Drudge has been ignoring and downplaying all of Obama’s negative stories and highlighting all of the negatives on Clinton and McCain.

I don’t think Drudge is pro-Obama. He just dislikes Hillary like I do.

Drudge is extremely pro-life. On his radio show I used to listen to him talk eloquently about pro-life issues.

If Obama is elected, Drudge knows that Roe will never be overturned and it will be abortion on demand.

Drudge will come back home this fall. He doesn’t want to see more Ruth Buzzi Ginsburgs on the court.

I’ve read Drudge since he was on Usenet and I have a strong suspicion this what you say is true. I had hope that Drudge would straighten out his lifestyle when he became friends with Roy Masters (on XM’s America Right channel). Drudge had Roy on his old Fox tv show several times and Roy Masters has helped many come out of homosexuality. Then over the succeeding years Drudge became very very close with homosexual activist Andrew Sullivan. I guarantee there is a lot there that won’t come out for years. It’s sad to see Drudge slowly go to the dark side like this.

Folks, get a grip. The fact that Drudge even put this story up on his website should tell you all you need to know. Remember those stories at the beginning of the primary/caucus season that Drudge had joined with Clinton staffers for flowing insider info through him? How’s that story look now? People jump to conclusions way too fast around here.

Very interesting article, even if it is in the Liberal Rag Politico. The author is correct, McCain could REALLY use a better and more positive coverage from Drudge. hum.... My own humble opinion is that it should come from McCain's Military service.... how to make that a story..... Those are the lines his campaign should be looking to. And finding out where Drudge has some of his moles stored.... Drudge LOVES thinking he's got the scoop, thats better than even a leak sometimes. Either way, the GOP had best pay attention.

Matt Drudge must be enjoying that article immensely! I think he enjoys being the man of mystery and whatever power that brings more than he needs to be seen as partisan. And it’s not hurting his bank account.
