Hate video inspires Brum soldier beheading plot

A SICKENING hate video which may have inspired the plot to behead a British Muslim soldier in Birmingham has been unearthed by the Sunday Mercury.

The shocking film shows extremist zealot Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed calling for the "Koffar", or non-believers, to have their heads "harvested" by terrorists.

The three-minute clip, believed to have been recorded in the Autumn of 2006, also sees Bakri boast about his collection of beheading videos.

Just four months after his sick rant, in January 2007, security services foiled a plot by terrorists to kidnap and kill a serving Muslim soldier in Birmingham.

Speaking in Arabic and English, Bakri describes Muslim troops fighting for Britain in Iraq and Afghanistan as "mortadd" or traitors.

"By allying with the unbelievers, he is a Morttadd - he is a greater unbeliever in battle," the Islamist preacher says.

"So any American Muslim or British Muslim who serves and joins the American army or British army and goes to Iraq, that is enough to call him traitor.

"There is no sanctity for his fortune or blood, even if his name was Ahmed or Hassan or Abdullah - he has no sanctity for his blood or Prophet. If he is captured by the Mujahedeen (Muslim fighters) his fate is up to the head of the Mujahedeen."

Bakri also tells his followers to take prisoners and to slaughter British soldiers if they find them.

"If you meet them, you see harvest on their head with swords," he rages.

In February Parviz Khan, 37, from Alum Rock, Birmingham, was jailed for life along with five others who plotted to use a drug deal to kidnap a serving Muslim soldier on a night out in the city's Broad Street area.

Terror experts fear Bakri's lectures could have inspired the twisted plot.

In the video, the hate-filled Sheikh goes on to talk about his collection of beheading videos to a small group of followers who are not seen on camera.

The extremist describes the slaying of an American engineer as "very tough", but calls a Korean aid worker's decapitation "easy".

"He was like a lamb, you know, it didn't take much," he says, as the audience cackles with laughter.

Hate preacher Bakri came to Britain in 1985, after his activities agitated the Saudi authorities, who deported him to the UK.

Nicknamed the "Tottenham Ayatollah" he organised rallies in London and condemned British law and democracy as "un-Islamic".

Bakri praised the 7/7 bombers, who he said would live in "paradise", and condemned British boxing sensation Amir Khan for wearing the Union Jack flag on his shorts. He also described former Prime Minister Tony Blair as a "legitimate" target for assassination.

Bakri was banned from returning to Britain in August 2005 after he travelled to Lebanon to visit his family. He is understood still to be living in the Middle Eastern country, although he has tried to return to Britain on several occasions and continues to post online video rants.

Last night, Midland MP Patrick Mercer, the Tory spokesman on terrorism and the military, said: "This is yet another indicator of Omar Bakri's attempts to incite terrorism.

"It is completely unacceptable and I have no doubt this will form useful evidence against him. Any British soldier serving in Iraq or Afghanistan is doing his, or her, job. Muslim troops are not only making a useful contribution at the frontlines, but they are making a hugely significant political statement.

"To suggest anything to the contrary is traitorous."

I despise violence, but I have to admit that I would like hearing (but not seeing) that someone had kidnapped this piece of clinton and that his beaheading was posted on the Internet.

And yet passing out Christian tracks in the UK is a hate crime.

His head belongs on pike in a public square...stitched to the body of a pig. The Brits have lost their spine in dealing with this level of sedition on their own soil.

I wouldn’t behead him. Cutting his ‘nads off and letting him live life like that would be much more fitting.
