Boxer: 'Recession' is 'Precisely' the Right Time for Economic Upheaval of Cap-and-Trade

Conventional wisdom suggests that times of high economic growth would be the most appropriate occasion to enact legislation that could be very expensive for American taxpayers.

That’s not the case for Democratic California Sen. Barbara Boxer. Boxer, who is the chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and advocating the Lieberman-Warner cap-and-trade legislation, said a “recession” is the best time to do it because it will bring us “hope.”

“[S]ome of our colleagues will say this: Why do this now? We are in a recession. Precisely because we are in a recession is why we should be doing this,” Boxer said on June 3 on the floor of the U.S. Senate. “This bill is the first thing that brings us hope.”

How does Boxer get elected as a U.S. Senator. She's just doesn't do a good job of persuading me she's ready for the Major Leagues.

It’s been said here many, many times but it’s ALWAYS worth repeating.

Liberalism is a mental disease.

Including when the sufferer is a “Republican”.

She’s right. It does bring me hope — hope that some miracle will occur whereby the people of America wise up and kick all these dangerous, ignorant, social engineering leftists (in both parties) the hell out of congress.

Not saying I think that will happen. But I do have hope.

incredible. perfect example of the liberal mentality:

hope will trump economic reality, because, well, just because its so positive. guess this will be the American version of a “Great Leap Forward”. everyone get their little red book.

She’s pro-abortion. Therefore, she is evil.

People who vote for pro-abortion candidates are also evil.

Evil people become more and more stupid, as well as more and more evil. Thus, they will do anything, no matter how evil, and if it’s evil, they will do it, no matter how stupid it is.

No, I DON’T think “there are good people on both sides of the abortion issue.”

There’s nothing to stupid for a Democrat to say as long as they can manage to get the words out. They have no shame.

Sure, limiting economic growth through draconian restrictions on energy use and placing trillions of dollars of tax burdens on middle and lower class working people through a third party will definitely help with the faux recession. When we’re in a deep depression we’ll never remember recession.

I am so proud to say that I live in the state having the dumbest US Senator, Barbara Boxer and the dumbest US Congressperson, Maxine Waters.

If brains were made out of gasoline, these two “Rhodes Scholars” wouldn’t, combined, have enough fuel to power a flea around a ball bearing.

Boxer is pretty dumb, but Patty Murray has the reputation at the biggest moron in the US Senate. Boxer is surely in the top 5.

Remember something...

Democrats are EMPOWERED by Economic chaos. They NEED turmoil to remain in office, and expand powers.

I fear we are heading into a VERY totalitarian period in American History.

And sadly, we are due for it.

“Savage always said Boxer would make a good bra salesgirl in Pennies.”

Michael Savage pretty much always has a way with words, doesn’t he? Truly my favorite to listen to of all the talk show hosts.

I'm practically weeping. Who are these people? They are out of their collective MINDS! Their so stupid I'd be surprise if they know how to fall asleep. Where do they come from? What on earth did we do to have such people as our leaders? I'm speechless....flabbergasted
