Jeremiah Wright's missing sermons - the full catalog, 2002-2008

Hello Everyone - As you can probably tell I am not a regular poster here. I logged in because I think I have found something important and it needs to be shared. As you know, Barack Obama's church - Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago - used to sell hundreds of videos on its website of the sermons of his kooky Afro-centric preacher Jeremiah Wright. When a few of these finally saw the light of day in March the video section of the site was scrubbed and pulled down. You can see the scrubbed version online now (http://www.tucc.org/store/index.cfm?action=catbrowse&catid=40). All of Wright's sermons except for two have been removed.

Yes, I downloaded one, came on FR to get a name where I could send a private email to concerning the online bulletins. I saw that people were posting about using the internet archive to research Wright’s church. I immediately went back to the site to get all the bulletins I could, and all but the one I downloaded, 5-30-04, were gone.

I have a couple hundred files off the Unity site - stuff that I sniffed out using Google hacks and pinging at file names using sequences of dates. It was all out there for months after the initial Wright uproar. Hardly evidence of an organized cover up, just a disorganized group and webmaster if you ask me. If files are disappearing, I wouldn’t be suprised if some clown is reorganizing the webserver and accidentally broke some links in the process.

The archives are still there from what I can tell — same as they were in March. See the search string above for mentions of Barack Obama in TUCC bulletins and print materials.

I have been browsing the archive, and these videos are/were sold through the “Akiba Bookstore”. This store is accessed from a link on the church homepage. What’s interesting is that around November 2006, the archived bookstore page completely disappears. Prior to that, it is there (which is where the posted list came from).

From what you say, it appears that someone wishing to protect Obama got the archive to pull down all versions of the bookstore page after November 2006.

It is possible that that a video from 2004 might not have been posted on the site immediately, it may not have appeared there until a later time, which would explain why only the later bookstore pages were eliminated.

I did the same regarding the bulletins, without the google hacks though. Just hunt and peck with their common naming conventions, and a calendar. I wish I had visited the site sooner and found some of the video...

Just after the Wright thing broke they took the Trumpet Magazine site completely offline, and they did take down many pages - those with links to all the bulletins, etc... Although they didn’t remove the actual files - just removed the pages with the links to them.

I’m guessing it’s probably the same with the sermons and such, but I could be wrong. If the videos are as damaging as people are saying they are, they would be stupid NOT to remove the files from the site... I’m actually surprised that they didn’t remove the bulletins completely. As it is I was unable to find bulletins for several Sundays over the last 2 years... I’m SO curious as to what was in those (I’m guessing it was just a “fill-in” webmaster that didn’t use the same naming system when they uploaded them though).

Thanks for the info., I (we all) really appreciate it. We’re going to need all the help we can get (those of us who are against Obama) as the media is in bed with him already. Barring some big news over the next month or so, he will be the Dem nominee. As much as I dislike McCain, Obama is like an “anti-Christ” in comparison!

So they are proud of the sermons one day telling all in the world their message. The next they are trying to avoid the public removing the message. What in the world are they trying to hide or mislead. The problem I have with Obama, I don't think he would pass a background check to be hired by the federal police much less a local police department. Too much radical behavior in the company he keeps.

Obama took Iowa. Iowa has a great tax revenue base in the casino industry. Let’s see the license application form to get a Gaming license to be Director of Operations in an Iowa casino:

I’d like to see Obama fill this out, since he wants to President of the US, not just a lowly Director of Operations at a riverboat casino. (The questions later on in the application get stickier.) And they DO catch you if you are lying or leave something out. So, I think it would be a fine idea for Barack Obama to submit a Gaming License application to every state in which he won. Not to get a gaming license, but for him to pass the litmus test that the worker bees have to pass to get their gaming licenses.
Bet he can’t do it.

That was actually Orange1998 who made the comment about a security check. :) I would think he would’ve been vetted already by the Secret Service/CIA/FBI/whomever does that for Presidential Candidates. I guess nothing alarming has come out that THEY are concerned about (or going to admit).
